My WWE 2K18 Results: WWE SmackDown Live (Oct.W4.16)

WWE SmackDown Live
October, Week 4, 2016
Des Moines, IA

Show Opener Promo
The Miz has taken utter delight in seeing the legends that he has brought back beat down Randy Orton and take him down a peg or two. Legends that “The Legend Killer” thought he had dispatched once and for all. Last week on SmackDown Live, Randy thought that by facing Sgt. Slaughter alone inside of a steel cage that it would eliminate The Miz, Maryse and Jake “The Snake” from the equation. However, Randy forgot that Sarge is a former WWE Champion that has defeated the likes of The Ultimate Warrior and “The Macho Man” Randy Savage. “The Viper” comes out to the ring and engages in a promo battle against The Miz.

Tonight, The Miz was scheduled to compete but instead he is once again giving back to the WWE Legends that paved the way before him. Miz has given his TV time to Sgt. Slaughter in the form of a No Holds Barred match against Randy Orton.
Promo Battle Winner: Randy Orton

Next week on SmackDown Live will feature another Triple Threat Match where the winner will join the SmackDown Women's team at Survivor Series. It will be Alexa Bliss taking on Maryse as well as the returning “Glamazon” Beth Phoenix!

Middle Card Promo
Last week, Carmella teamed up with the SmackDown Women's Champion Becky Lynch to take on The Bella Twins in a tag team match that saw Brie Bella submit Carmella with the YES! Lock. Carmella has had enough of The Bella Twins for stealing the spotlight away from new and better Superstars like her. She also blames the WWE Universe for not causing a groundswell of support for “The Princess of Staten Island”. Every princess needs her crown and Carmella needs that SmackDown Women's Championship. However, right now Carmella wants to get her hands on Brie Bella because she has had enough.

Two weeks ago at No Mercy, Apollo Crews defeated Dolph Ziggler to retain the WWE Intercontinental Championship. Last week on SmackDown Live, Ziggler came out the ring and cut a heel turn promo.

Match #3
Normal Match
Dolph Ziggler vs James Ellsworth
Winner by pinfall: Dolph Ziggler (Zig Zag)(*** ½ Great)
Post-Match: Ziggler, fresh off his new attitude after his incendiary speech last week, decides against leaving in favor to make a statement by stomping a hole into Ellsworth.

Ever since The Headbangers became the SmackDown Tag Team Champions, they've insisted on defending the championship every single week. That brash but reckless attitude may have costed them as last week on WWE Main Event, The Headbangers once again issued an open challenge to any SmackDown tag team to receive an opportunity at the SmackDown Tag Team Championship. This time the challenge was answered by The Vaudevillains who shocked the WWE Universe by defeating The Headbangers when no one else could to become the NEW SmackDown Tag Team Champions.

Tonight, The Headbangers have issued their rematch clause that has been accepted by The Vaudevillains.

Match #4

Middle Card Promo
Former WWE Champion AJ Styles comes out to the ring, making his first appearance since WWE No Mercy two weeks ago where he lost the WWE Championship to Dean Ambrose. Styles addresses Ambrose's comments from last week proposing that Dean's victory at No Mercy didn't sound like redemption, it sounded like a fluke. If Ambrose wants true redemption then that would involve defeating AJ one more time and AJ proposes a rematch at Survivor Series. He warns “The Lunatic” not to worry about getting his wins back from Randy Orton or Baron Corbin because he is not going to get past “The Phenomenal One”.

Match #5
Main Event
No Holds Barred Match
Sgt. Slaughter vs Randy Orton
Winner by pinfall: Randy Orton (RKO)(Squash!)

Show Closer Promo
John Cena makes his first appearance since his victory over The Miz last month at Backlash. He greets the WWE Universe and states his intention to once again become the man to beat here on SmackDown Live. He took a look at the SmackDown rankings and he jotted down the names of everyone slotted above him and has made it a mission to beat every single one of them. He notes that Survivor Series is once again around the corner and if he ends up on a team he wants to be the one to lead it to victory. Ultimately Cena wants that WWE Championship and that should send shivers down the spine of Dean Ambrose, AJ Styles, or whoever is the champ once he comes knocking.

Cena is suddenly interrupted by the new WWE Champion Dean Ambrose who tells the WWE Universe that he is here to do them a favor and shut Cena up. They engage in a promo battle where they go back and forth about having a championship match. A win over John Cena would really bolster the claim of Dean Ambrose being back to his top shelf self. “The Lunatic Fringe” challenges Cena and says that he needs a victory over a WWE Superstar like John Cena. As WWE Champion, Ambrose wants that notch on his title. Cena accepts just like always but gives Ambrose time to think out his challenge out of mercy.
Promo Battle Winner: John Cena

WWE Hell in a Cell is this Sunday and is presented by RAW!

Three weeks ago at WWE Clash of Champions, Gallows and Anderson defeated Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins to become the new WWE Tag Team Champions. Tonight on RAW, Reigns and Rollins will take on Gallows and Anderson in their first meeting since Clash of Champions in tonight's main event which will serve as a preview for their WWE Tag Team Championship match this Sunday at WWE Hell in a Cell. Last week on RAW, WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar attacked Neville from behind, afraid of facing his rival head-on until their WWE Universal Championship match at WWE Hell in a Cell.

Tonight, Neville is here in Hershey, Pennsylvania and is ready for a fight. Specifically a fight against “The Beast Incarnate”. However, Neville has been informed (by Paul Heyman) that Brock Lesnar has decided not to waste his time traveling to a place like Hershey, PA. However, the RAW Commissioner Stephanie McMahon will not let Neville go without seeing any competition tonight because he clearly needs an avenue to vent his aggression.
