Bam
Bam Bigelow is ranked #2 and WCW Cruiserweight Champion Brian Pillman
is ranked #3. Pillman is as close to the top of World Championship
Wrestling than he ever has been. “Flyin'” Brian has the stars in
his eyes and is hungry to continue to advance. He calls out “The
Beast in the East” who comes out to face Pillman. However, Pillman
says that he hasn't come to New Mexico alone and he wants a shot at
Bigelow's WCW World Tag Team Championship. Bigelow accepts Pillman's
challenge but adds that he'll put his title on the line alongside DDP
if Pillman can beat them next week. Pillman is then suddenly laid out
by Bam Bam who attacks Pillman and leaves him laying.
NWO
Wolf Pack contemporaries, WCW United States Champion Kevin Nash and
WCW World Television Champion Disco Inferno are going back and forth
over who is the better champion. Things get a little tense when
ornery WCW Hardcore Champion Scott Hall takes exception to Disco's
claims and asks Disco if he thinks that he's a better champion than
Hall. Disco hesitates which tells Hall everything he needs to know as
he tells Disco that he'll see him out in the ring later tonight. Hall
and Nash walk off which leaves Disco calling out to them.

Superstars making their statements that they would win their WCW
World Heavyweight Championship match. Tempers ran hot between the
enemies with a fight breaking out between them!

Rivalry
Sting
'98 calls out WCW World Heavyweight Champion Ric Flair '91 and trades
barbs with “The Nature Boy” who continues to malign Sting for
joining up with the NWO despite Sting's claims of joining up to
ultimately save WCW from any NWO Hollywood tyranny. The exchange does
not go well and it ends with Sting clocking Flair in the head with
the mic. They brawl in a heated physical exchange that end with Sting
standing tall.
Tensions
between Bret Hart '98 and Ricky Steamboat '94 are growing worse as
they continue to butt heads in and out of their matches. Despite
rushing Bret in their match last week on Nitro, Steamboat would once
again go on to lose to “The Hitman”. Hart would add insult to
injury by not using a finishing move or hold to defeat Steamboat.
What does “The Dragon” have to say tonight?

Rivalry
Ricky
Steamboat '94 calls out Bret Hart but is ultimately defeated in a
promo battle. “The Dragon” seems to be in dire need of a shift in
momentum. Will Bret own this rivalry or will Steamboat find success
over “The Best There Is, The Best There Was and The Best There Ever
Will Be”.
#1
contender for the WCW United States Championship, Bret “The Hitman”
Hart '98 has opted to temporarily give up his status as the #1
contender in favor of a WCW United States Championship opportunity
after he settles his rivalry with Ricky Steamboat. This way WCW
United States Championship matches won't experience any lapses or
delays in competition. With that being said, WCW US Champ, Kevin Nash
needs a challenger soon and we're going to find one next!
