My WWE 2K18 Results: WWE RAW (July.Week 1)

WWE RAW
July, Week 1, Year 1
Anchorage, AK

Tonight on Monday Night RAW in Anchorage, it's a huge championship main event as the NEW WWE Champion AJ Styles will defend his newly won championship against former champ Dean Ambrose! Also tonight, after Bray Wyatt won the Money in the Bank contract last night and won himself a golden opportunity, Stephanie and Shane McMahon have agreed to host a Golden Opportunity Battle Royal tonight where the winner will have the choice to challenge for the WWE United States Championship, the WWE Intercontinental Championship or an opportunity to challenge a top contender.

Show Opener Promo
The new Mr. Money in the Bank, Bray Wyatt comes out to talk about his victory and once again outlines his metaphor about how he is the spider that is about to land on a very unsuspecting shoulder. He also brings up his manifesto about The Authority's decline in dominance after WrestleMania and how The Wyatt Family has risen up to grab that power and with Bray as Mr. Money in the Bank, it is only a matter of time before he becomes the true leader of the WWE.

The Club, Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows come out and say that although they did not win the WWE Tag Team Championships last night at Money in the Bank, their good brother AJ Styles won the WWE Championship and so Gallows and Anderson are out here to host a proper “Too Sweet Celebration”. They mention that right now AJ and Ambrose are in Stephanie and Shane McMahon's office signing contracts and making it official but they'll be bringing him out shortly. In the meantime, they start talking about The Shield and how The Club won't rest until they capture the WWE Tag Team Championships. It is here that they are interrupted...and not by The Shield.

Match #1
Two on Three Handicap Match
The Club (Karl Anderson & Luke Gallows) vs The Wyatt Family (Luke Harper, Erick Rowan & Braun Strowman)
Winners: The Club!

The Miz, alongside Maryse, is interviewed and is asked about the Golden Opportunity Battle Royal tonight. He says that since he is always one step ahead of every other WWE Superstar, he is above such things. Instead of going to war with seven other Superstars, he has gone on to issue a challenge to a top contender right here tonight in frosty Alaska. He has challenged John Cena and when he defeats Cena, Miz will then go on to challenge the WWE Champion AJ Styles! Chess not Checkers.

He talks about Jericho's nonstop complaining on social media and before Orton gets to address he is immediately interrupted by Jericho. They trade barbs as it looks like “The Viper” is going to best Jericho in the promo battle before Jericho drops Orton with a low blow. A brawl ensues that Randy eventually seems to get the upper hand in.

Match #5
Normal Match
John Cena vs The Miz (w/Maryse)
Winner by pinfall: The Miz! (Skull Crushing Finale)

Show Closer Promo
Jack Swagger comes out and talks about competing in last night's Money in the Bank ladder match and how winning that contract would have given his career the revitalization that he thinks it needed. Now that Money in the Bank is in the past he needs to concentrate on his future and if he can't challenge for the WWE Championship then maybe he'll issue a challenge and if it gets accepted then he will shock the world with the biggest victory of his career. Swagger calls out “The Beast” Brock Lesnar who comes out and laughs off but ultimately accepts Swagger's challenge. Brock ends the segment by telling Swagger that if he is that hungry for career suicide then Brock will lend a helping hand and assist in ending Swagger's delusion. Before Swagger can say another word, he is dropped by “The Beast”. A brief brawl ensues that even sees Swagger getting in a German Suplex before Brock ends things with a vicious clothesline.

All month long, the WWE Universe has been being treated to a rivalry between The Shield (the WWE Tag Team Champions) and The Club with both factions trading victories as weeks pass. It all comes to a head tonight as “The Phenomenal” AJ Styles challenges Dean Ambrose for the WWE Championship. Meanwhile, Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows will challenge Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins for the WWE Tag Team Championships in an effort to prove that they are the top faction in the WWE. The Shield contest that The Club may have been dominant elsewhere but that's only because they haven't met The Shield until now and tonight “The Hounds of Justice” plan on showing just how dominant they can be by keeping all of their championships tonight by force.

Match #2
WWE Tag Team Championships
Tag Team Match
The Shield (Roman Reigns & Seth Rollins)(c) vs The Club (Karl Anderson & Luke Gallows)
Winners and STILL WWE Tag Team Champions: The Shield (Ripcord Knee from Rollins on Anderson)

After suffering a loss to Ryback several weeks ago, Apollo Crews would go on to challenge Ryback to a rematch that Crews would end up winning despite a pre-match attack by “The Big Guy”. Ryback would demand a rematch of his own but the rising star, Apollo Crews would once again pick up the victory. Frustrated, Ryback would wait for Crews' match to end the following week on RAW and would go on to attack Crews leading to a brawl between the two superstars. Tonight, Ryback (who views Crews as a minor setback) plans to finally demolish Apollo and put this all behind him. Crews, however, plans on defeating Ryback on a big stage like Money in the Bank and picking up the biggest win of his career so far.

Match #3
Rivalry Match
Normal Match
Apollo Crews vs Ryback
Winner by pinfall: Apollo Crews (Spin-out Powerbomb)
Post-Match: Ryback goes to attack Crews who repels the attempted blindside attack and clotheslines Ryback out of the ring.

At WWE Payback, Sasha Banks defeated Charlotte to become the WWE Women's Championship in what was thought to be a competitive contest between two best friends but was that really the case? Upon winning the championship Sasha's attitude began to change and good friends quickly became very bitter enemies as Sasha would engage in cheap shots and blind side attacks to gain the advantage in this rivalry. Some speculate that those tactics are what led to Sasha retaining the WWE Women's Championship at WWE Extreme Rules. During the month of June, Charlotte (who now accepts that her best friend is gone) would begin strike back and build up momentum leading up to the WWE Women's Championship match at Money in the Bank. However, Sasha would cut off this momentum by attacking Charlotte with a kendo stick last Monday night on RAW. After the senseless attack, Sasha and Charlotte will now meet in an Extreme Rules Rematch tonight.

Match #4
WWE Women's Championship
Rivalry Match
Rematch
Extreme Rules Match
Sasha Banks (c) vs Charlotte
Winner by pinfall and NEW WWE Women's Champion: Charlotte (Natural Selection)(**** Amazing)

Footage is shown highlighting the rivalry between the WWE United States Champion Chris Jericho and “The Viper” Randy Orton. Both men have defeated each other for the WWE United States Championship and tonight both Superstars plan on walking away with the gold. Jericho wants to exterminate and rid himself of “The Viper” and Orton looks to deliver a patented RKO and bring the WWE United States Championship back around his waist. Footage is then shown of Jericho taking a cheap shot against Orton on RAW which only served to fire up “The Apex Predator”. Has Jericho shot himself in the foot by firing up “The Viper” or was it just strategy to soften up Randy before their championship match tonight?

Match #5
WWE United States Championship
Normal Match
Chris Jericho (c) vs Randy Orton
Winner by pinfall and NEW WWE United States Champion: Randy Orton (Avalanche RKO)(**** Amazing)

  • Neville plans on winning the Money in the Bank contract to defy his detractors and everyone that told him that he couldn't do it, cash in his contract and reach the highest level in the WWE by becoming the WWE Championship.
  • Baron Corbin plans to become Mr. Money in the Bank and become the WWE Champion's nightmare. Corbin wants to savor the fear and anxiety before ultimately cashing in his contract and taking his place that belongs to him as WWE Champion.
  • Kevin Owens plans on grabbing the Money in the Bank briefcase and cashing it in to bring the WWE Championship where it has always belonged, around his waist and alongside his best friends, Sami Zayn and Chris Jericho.
  • Bray Wyatt metaphorically details how he is a spider about to weave a web of destruction tonight before climbing the ladder to grab the contract that will have the WWE Champion Dean Ambrose constantly looking over his shoulder. For The Wyatt Family, everything has led up to this point here tonight.
  • Jack Swagger talks about being a former World Heavyweight Champion and breaks down all of the hard work that he has put in trying to insert himself in the WWE Championship picture. All of that hard work has finally led him to the Money in the Bank ladder match tonight. A place that he has been before and a battlefield that he was once successful in. Tonight, after he grabs the briefcase the entire WWE Universe will be talking about how “Jack is back”.
  • Paul Heyman laughs off at all of the notions Brock Lesnar's opponents have been spouting about possibly winning the Money in the Bank contract tonight when in reality five other men will be conquered and victimized tonight. He says to think about what Brock can do to someone in a normal one on one match and then he says to think about all of the added pain and suffering involved once you add a ladder into the equation. The fact of the matter is that the WWE Champion Dean Ambrose has been running around all month breathing a sigh of relief over surviving Brock Lesnar when in reality “The Lunatic Fringe” is a lost hiker in the woods about to bump into “The Beast” that he thought he had escaped for good.

Match #6
6-Man Money In The Bank Ladder Match
Brock Lesnar vs Jack Swagger vs Bray Wyatt vs Kevin Owens vs Baron Corbin vs Neville
Winner and Mr. Money In The Bank: Bray Wyatt

After surviving his WWE Championship rivalry against Brock Lesnar, the WWE Champion Dean Ambrose has been battling alongside his Shield brethren all month long against the #1 contender AJ Styles and his Club members, Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows. Will Ambrose keep the WWE Championship in The Shield? Or will “The Phenomenal One” bring the WWE Championship into The Club?

Match #7
