As a means to decrease any possible confusion, WCW officials have decommissioned the WCW World Heavyweight Championship '88 from WCW Saturday Night (It will be contested for on a future edition of WWE Gold Rush).

As a result, the #1 Contender for the '88 title, “The Nature Boy” Ric Flair '88 will now be added to the WCW World Heavyweight Championship '91-'93 match featuring the champion Tatsumi Fujinami and Diamond Dallas Page '92.

Last night on WCW Saturday Night, Stunning Steve Austin attacked Ricky Steamboat '91 before their match, determined to hurt his opponent. Despite this adversity, “The Dragon” would go on to submit “The Dragon Slayer”. Not one to be humiliated, Austin has demanded a rematch tonight on Clash of the Champions. Will he accomplish his mission of slaying “The Dragon” tonight?
