Last week on Nitro: Lex Luger defeated Curt Hennig, avoiding a frustrated and desperate attack by the loser and adding more significance to his victory!

In tonight's main event: “The Total Package” Lex Luger and the nWo's Curt Hennig will be forced to team up tonight to take on the WCW World Tag Team Champions, The Wolf Pack. Is this team destined for failure or can they somehow set aside their differences?

Last week on Nitro: The WCW World Heavyweight Champion Goldberg '98 issued a challenge to the boastful WCW United States Champion Bret “The Hitman” Hart '98.

The WCW World Heavyweight Champion Goldberg '98 calls out the WCW United States Champion Bret “The Hitman” Hart '98. Goldberg says that he doesn't want to wait a week to face Bret, he wants his United States Championship match tonight.

Bret says that Goldberg is clever for not wanting to compete in two championship matches in one night and accepts Goldberg's challenge. Hart adds that Goldberg and the WCW Universe might see him as boastful but after “The Hitman” submits the Goldberg, the WCW World Heavyweight Champion, to the sharpshooter then everyone will receive the reality check that they sorely need.
