Promo: The WWE Royal Rumble is this Sunday!

Last week on RAW: Brock Lesnar and Neville were scheduled into a tag match that went disastrous for them. Both Superstars were clearly focused on trying to one-up each other before their WWE Universal title match.

Also taking place last week: Goldberg defeated Chris Jericho in a promo battle. Jericho, still riding high from defeating Goldberg in Goldberg's first match back, bested Goldberg on the mic several weeks before. Goldberg was looking for a rematch against Jericho, calling his win a fluke and Jericho simply told him to meet him in the Royal Rumble match where Jericho claimed that he would throw Goldberg out.

Goldberg opens RAW and says that the problem he has with Chris Jericho's answer for a rematch to “meet him in the Rumble” is that as it stands right now, Goldberg is not in the Royal Rumble match because he is not within RAW's top 15 ranked Superstars. He currently sits only a spot or two outside of qualifying range. So tonight in Denver, Colorado, Goldberg is calling out not Chris Jericho...but the reigning WWE Universal Champion Neville.

Goldberg is impressed with Neville's career renaissance from always overcoming the odds, defeating “The Beast” Brock Lesnar several times and defeating two behemoths in a handicap match last week. However, Goldberg's will to compete in the Royal Rumble match outweighs his respect for Neville and Goldberg challenges Neville to a match tonight. RAW Commissioner, Stephanie McMahon has pre-approved this match but stated that it could not be contested for the WWE Universal Championship. Goldberg is fine with that because it's only a matter of time before that championship is around his waist after he beats Neville tonight he'll immediately qualify to enter the Rumble match where he will win after throwing out 29 other Superstars. Goldberg simply states that he thinks that Neville is an easy victory for him tonight and his meal ticket to enter the Royal Rumble match.

Last week on RAW: Karl Anderson defeated Cesaro in singles action. Afterwards, Sheamus saved Cesaro from a vicious assault by Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows, preventing a serious injury at the hands of their remorseless rivals. Tonight, an angry “Swiss Superman” has challenged Karl Anderson to a rematch!

This Sunday at the WWE Royal Rumble: The RAW Women's Champion Charlotte will defend the championship against Paige and “The Boss” Sasha Banks in a Triple Threat Match for the RAW Women's Championship!

Backstage: The RAW Commissioner Stephanie McMahon has been mulling over Sasha Banks' request to team up with Nia Jax last week and has decided to make that match happen tonight. It will be Sasha and Nia against Charlotte and Paige. However, Stephanie isn't doing this for Sasha to redeem herself after her Survivor Series team loss but rather because she sees a lot in Nia Jax and practically guarantees that the women's Team RAW would have won at Survivor Series had Nia been on it.

With Stephanie's vendetta against Survivor Series 2016 Team RAW members, Charlotte, Sasha Banks and Bayley in mind, if Nia Jax defeats either Charlotte or Paige tonight then the RAW Women's Championship match at the Royal Rumble this Sunday will become a Fatal 4-Way match with Nia inserted!

Last week on RAW: Kofi Kingston lamented not being ranked high enough to participate in this year's Royal Rumble match. He reminisced about all of his unforgettable Rumble moments and vowed not to simply sit back and watch the Rumble go by without him this year so he issued a challenge to any RAW Superstar ranked in the top 15.

The RAW General Manager Mick Foley listened to Kofi's request and granted it in the form of a match against “The Face of America” Kevin Owens. If Kofi wins then he's in and Owens still keeps his Rumble spot. Win-Win!

Promo: “The Beast” Brock Lesnar's advocate, Paul Heyman, talks about how Brock is going to put an end to Neville's Cinderella story once and for all this Sunday at the WWE Royal Rumble Pay-Per-View. Lesnar has had his fun and now playtime is over. “The Beast” is going to yank the WWE Universal Championship from Neville (possibly taking Neville's arm with it) and then go on to WrestleMania where he will do exactly what he did at last year's WrestleMania, victimize whoever stands across the ring from Brock, demolish their dreams and salt the earth where those dreams once stood. WrestleMania 33 will belong to Brock Lesnar like the WrestleMania before it!

Unable to wait for their WWE Universal title match, Brock Lesnar ruined a scheduled match by taking out Neville's opponent, Goldberg. Fighting continued between the two rivals as the referee was unable to control the situation!

Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows made a big statement to their rivals Cesaro and Sheamus after picking up another big win, showing that they'll win their last match to become the #1 contenders for the RAW tag titles!
