SHOW OPENER PROMO

The Miz reveals himself (and Maryse) as the latest member of the RAW roster. He promises to do what Brock Lesnar can't seem do to and that's beat Neville, win the WWE Universal Championship...and stay the Universal Champion. Miz then touts his big victory over The Undertaker several months ago to bolster his big claims.

Miz is interrupted by Dean Ambrose who is also now the newest RAW roster addition. “The Lunatic Fringe” gives “The A-Lister” props on his acting because for a brief moment, Ambrose actually believed that Miz believed the crap that was spewing from his mouth. Things degenerate as Ambrose lays out Miz, prompting a brawl that Miz gets the better of.

LAST WEEK ON 205 Live: Gentleman Jack Gallagher was victorious in a Fatal 4-Way Match to become the #1 contender for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship and is scheduled to challenge TJ Perkins for the Cruiserweight Championship in two weeks at WWE Payback!

EARLIER TONIGHT: The WWE Cruiserweight Champion TJ Perkins met with The Brian Kendrick and insinuated that Kendrick had fallen from grace, asking Kendrick what happened to the man that had temporarily won the WWE Championship in the Championship Scramble match. Now, Kendrick can't even beat a cruiserweight like Jack Gallagher.

COMING UP NEXT: The Brian Kendrick looks to show the cruiserweight champ TJ Perkins that he's as dangerous as ever as he looks to take down Perkins' contender and Kendrick's recent rival, Gentleman Jack Gallagher!

Whatever is with Samoa Joe's sudden vendetta isn't inherently clear. Seth tells him to get lost when Joe suddenly lays him out with a vicious right hand, prompting a brawl that Joe gets the better of.

Chris Jericho wants another opportunity at the WWE United States Championship and now that Kevin Owens is too much of a coward to challenge Triple H, Jericho wants that opportunity at WWE Payback. Kevin Owens appears and reiterates that if he wants to get to Triple H then he has to get through him. Jericho challenges Owens who accepts...just not for tonight. And if by happenstance Kevin Owens or Triple H get drafted to SmackDown Live then Jericho's pursuits are over.
