Goldberg calls out his Backlash opponent, the WWE Champion The Rock '01. He talks about his PPV debut with the WWE and how he defeated The Rock. At Backlash, Goldberg wants to erase any doubt that he is the better Superstar with a second victory over “The Great One”. The Rock returns fire on the mic as Goldberg fires back with verbal bullets of his own. This provokes The Rock into striking Goldberg, prompting a brawl that Goldberg gets the better of.
