KICKING THINGS OFF: Ted DiBiase and Curt Hennig of the NWO have challenged the WCW World Heavyweight Champion Sting '99 and “The Total Package” Lex Luger to a tag team match tonight, promising them a surprise. DiBiase reveals that he is simply the benefactor of the NWO and not Hennig's tag team partner. However and much like the past, DiBiase was responsible for the fiduciary paperwork involved in bringing in Hennig's tag team partner tonight who is currently signed to another brand.

MIDDLE CARD PROMO
“The Natural” Dustin Rhodes talks about how Fit Finlay and him can brawl until the cows come home but to determine a definitive hardcore champion only one of them can be the last one standing. Rhodes challenges Finlay to a Last Man Standing Match for the WCW Hardcore Championship. If Rhodes wins then that'll be the end of it. There'll be no rematch clause. Finlay accepts and tells Rhodes that he's going to wish that he never thought of this challenge.

TWO WEEKS AGO ON NITRO: Sting '98 challenged Bret Hart to a rematch after losing to “The Hitman” the week prior, but Hart responded by informing Sting '98 that if he wanted a rematch then he'd have to earn it by defeating Bam Bam Bigelow. Sting '98 would go on to defeat “The Beast From The East” later that night. Despite this, Bret still declined a rematch with Sting '98 and called Sting's win over Bigelow a fluke.
MIDDLE CARD PROMO
Bam Bam Bigelow calls Sting '98's victory over him several weeks ago a fluke and challenges Sting '98 to a rematch. Sting '98 says that unlike some “hitmen” around here, Sting '98 isn't afraid of a challenge and accepts Bam Bam's rematch.

NEXT ON NITRO: Despite declining Sting '09's repeated challenges for a rematch, an overly arrogant Bret Hart grumps about not having any challenges here in the WCW. Former five-time WCW Champion, Booker T, returns and asks Bret why he doesn't want to face Sting '98 again if he's starving for competition. Booker then adds “The Total Package” Lex Luger and the WCW World Heavyweight Champion Sting '99 to his list of names that Bret could face. Before facing any of them though, Booker wants a piece of “The Hitman”.

The man they call Vader doesn't blame The Stinger.
