SINCE THE SUPERSTAR SHAKE-UP: The Miz and Dean Ambrose have been add odds with each other. Two weeks ago on RAW in London, Miz and Ambrose were named as co-acting General Managers for the night respectively by RAW General Manager Mick Foley and RAW Commissioner Stephanie McMahon. “The Lunatic Fringe” would lose to the Intercontinental Champion Bray Wyatt while The Miz defeated The Big Show in an impressive outing.

THIS PAST MONDAY NIGHT ON RAW: The Miz bested Dean Ambrose in a promo battle that saw Miz promise to make quick work of Ambrose at Extreme Rules similarly to when Baron Corbin made quick work of Ambrose last year at SummerSlam and similarly to when Randy Orton made quick work of Ambrose last year at Backlash.

LAST MONTH AT WWE PAYBACK: Paige defeated Nia Jax by submission with the PTO to retain the RAW Women's Championship.

SINCE THEN: Nia Jax has refused to accept the results of their match at Payback and demanded a championship rematch against Paige at the Extreme Rules PPV. Paige was willing to accept but told Nia that there were other Superstars deserving of a championship opportunity. Nia would go on to defeat those implied Superstars in tag team competition, thus somewhat cementing her claim for a title rematch.

TWO WEEKS AGO ON RAW: Co-acting RAW GM, The Miz, granted Nia Jax's request for another opportunity at the RAW Women's Championship at WWE Extreme Rules. Later that evening, Co-acting RAW GM, Dean Ambrose, granted Paige's request to have her RAW Women's Championship match against Nia Jax be an Extreme Rules match.

NEXT: Will Nia Jax make good on her promise to run right through Paige? Or will Paige make sure that history repeats itself tonight with a second straight victory over “The Irresistible Force”?

EARLIER THIS MONTH: “The Glorious” Bobby Roode defeated both Dean Ambrose and Finn Bálor in a #1 contender's match for the Intercontinental Championship.

JUST THIS PAST WEEK ON RAW: The Intercontinental Champion Bray Wyatt took on Rob Van Dam who was brought in by RAW GM Mick Foley as a warm-up match for Wyatt to help promote the Extreme Rules PPV. The returning “Mr. Monday Night” saw himself as more than just a warm-up opponent and went on to defeat Wyatt in non-title competition. As a result, RVD has been added to the Intercontinental Championship match tonight!
