TONIGHT: Despite Shinsuke Nakamura winning the Men's Money in the Bank Ladder Match, Nakamura finds himself ranked at the very top of the rankings for the WWE Championship alongside John Cena. Both Superstars will face off in a #1 contender's match tonight with the winner going on to Battleground to challenge “The Viper” Randy Orton for the WWE Championship!

Former United States Champion Kevin Owens complains about AJ Styles thinking that he can cut the line and challenge Jericho for the United States Title because Kevin Owens is still owed his championship rematch. Styles appears and tells Owens that his newly won kingship trumps Kevin's rematch clause.

NEXT: The WWE United States Champion Chris Jericho is definitely synonymous with lists and tonight the United States Champ looks to start an additional list to accompany his infamous list. Jericho will host a “You just made the list” open challenge where he plans to add as many successful title defenses as possible to his new list.

A victory for Nakamura tonight would mean challenging the WWE Champion without needing to cash in his Money in the Bank contract. This creates the unique possibility of Shinsuke holding both the WWE Championship and the Money in the Bank briefcase at the same time. Conversely, John Cena is back and is looking to reclaim his place as the face that runs the place!
