LAST WEEK ON NITRO: WCW Owner Mr. McMahon launched an attack on WCW on behalf of the WWE. The Rock '01 and Kurt Angle '01 were able to coexist against the team of Sting '99 and “The Total Package” Lex Luger, bringing home a victory to the WWE after The Rock pinned Sting after a Rock Bottom!

TONIGHT ON NITRO: In the spirit of this November being the month of Survivor Series, Mr. McMahon announces a Traditional Survivor Series Eight-Man Tag Team Elimination Match featuring Team WWE versus Team WCW!

ORIGINALLY KICKING OFF NITRO: Shane Douglas was set to take on “The Beast From The East” Bam Bam Bigelow in WCW Hardcore Division action. However, Douglas appealed to his friendship with Bigelow from their time in ECW. Rather than face each other tonight, Douglas suggested that they team up tonight to set their sights on another threat in their hardcore division, Tank Abbott. However, Tank has found an old ally in the back and is not coming alone to this fight!

NEXT: The Nasty Boys issue an open challenge to any two WWE Superstars in the back not already competing in tonight's main event. However, Knobbs and Sags did not get the answer they were expecting as Buff Bagwell and Scott Norton appear on the scene and tell The Nasty Boys that they need to worry about the nWo!
