ANNOUNCEMENT: SmackDown Live GM Daniel Bryan introduced Drake Maverick as 205 Live's new General Manager. After dedicating his life to Cruiserweight competition, Maverick announced his intention to help 205 Live reach its true potential as the home for the most exciting competition in all of sports-entertainment.

As a result, Maverick announced that a 16-Man Cruiserweight Championship Tournament would begin immediately, and it would conclude at WrestleMania!

INTERVIEW: The Cruiserweight Champion Cedric Alexander has entered the tournament and will defend the title in every round to prove himself as champion. The odds are against him but defending the title at WrestleMania will make it all worth it!

TONIGHT: In the first round of the Cruiserweight Championship Tournament, TJP will take on Tyler Bate and Cedric Alexander defends the Cruiserweight Championship against “The King of the Ropes” Gran Metalik!

NOTE: With Cedric Alexander defeating Akira Tozawa at the Royal Rumble via count out to retain the Cruiserweight Championship, Tozawa has an opportunity at a championship rematch if he can make it to the finals. What better time and place to end a rivalry than the grandest stage of them all?

NEXT: Neville has DEMANDED a match against Tozawa with the stipulation that Neville replaces him in the tournament if Neville wins tonight. Neville is sick of waiting for Tozawa's championship rivalry with Cedric Alexander to end and tonight “The King of the Cruiserweights” puts an end to it!

INTERVIEW: Akira Tozawa is disappointed in his count out at the Royal Rumble and he's disappointed he didn't become the GM, but now he can win the Cruiserweight Championship at WrestleMania!

INTERVIEW: Mustafa Ali calls this tournament his wake-up call. He plans to win it all and punch his ticket to WrestleMania where he can tear the entire house down with Cedric Alexander!

INTERVIEW: TJP reminds everyone that 205 Live was built on the shoulders of “The Cruisergreat”. Drake Maverick stops by to introduce himself and hopes to see “The Cruisergreat” and not the TJP who whines when he doesn't get his way.
