LAST WEEK ON NXT: Tommaso Ciampa got the pinfall over Lars Sullivan in a handicap match also involving Ciampa's opponent for the vacant NXT Championship at NXT TakeOver: Chicago, Aleister Black. This effectively removes Sullivan from the equation after an forceful attempt by Sullivan to insert himself in the title picture.

Gargano then reveals that Mr. Regal has agreed to a Falls Count Anywhere at NXT TakeOver: Chicago featuring the return of “Johnny Wrestling” for one night only against Velveteen Dream who was already informed by NXT management who gave him their full support as they don't want a non-contracted competitor beating any of their NXT Superstars and Dream doesn't plan to disappoint!
