Memphis' own Jerry “The King” Lawler made his return on this season of WWE SmackDown '00 and RAW IS WAR with the goal of finally capturing gold. Unfortunately for “The King”, he is not quite high enough in the rankings to be a contender for the WWE Championship (Smoking Skull). Not to mention the WWE Champion (Smoking Skull) Stone Cold Steve Austin just had a big championship match this past Tuesday night on RAW IS WAR. That leaves Lawler with one solution that many close to him have called him crazy for. Lawler challenges the Hardcore Champion, The Undertaker '02 for the Hardcore Championship tonight!

The segment ends with The Undertaker '02 accepting Jerry's challenge and expressing his lament over the reality check that The Undertaker is about to deliver to “The King”. The Undertaker hits Lawler in the face with his mic but Lawler fights back in a brawl that The Undertaker gets the better of.
