LAST WEEK ON RAW: Acting General Manager Baron Corbin announced that at Crown Jewel Roman Reigns will defend the Universal Championship against Braun Strowman and Brock Lesnar in a Triple Threat Match, despite Roman having just bested Brock at Hell in a Cell. It appeared that Corbin granted Lesnar the opportunity in exchange for attacking Reigns later on RAW right before he was scheduled to defend the Universal Title against Corbin who “The Big Dog” ultimately defeated regardless!

Braun Strowman, Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre have been enjoying their recent targeting of 2/3 of The Shield in Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins. That is until Buzz stuck his nose in their their business and started fighting alongside them against Braun, Dolph and Drew. Strowman talks about how The Shield claim that their strength is their brotherhood and yet the biggest threat to themselves has always come from within.

“The Monster Among Men” offers Buzz a spot within his ranks and says that together they can dominate Monday Night RAW and all of them will be draped in gold. Buzz clarifies that he's not looking to join either group. He's just evening the odds after watching nobody step up to Braun and Co..

IN THE BACKSTAGE AREA: Acting GM Baron Corbin, on thin ice already with Commissioner Stephanie McMahon, isn't about to let The Shield and Buzz run roughshod over his show. Corbin runs interference to not so much stop the action as delay it — per Stephanie's orders, Corbin will team with two partners of his choosing to battle The Shield and Buzz later in the night.

NEXT WEEK: Finn Bálor and Bayley (AKA Team B&B) will make their WWE Mixed Match Challenge debut, while Jinder Mahal and Alicia Fox (AKA Mahalicia) will be in action tomorrow!
