TONIGHT ON THE NEW YEAR'S WEEK EDITION OF NITRO: With Nitro in Kevin Nash Country, The Outsiders announce that they will defend the WCW World Tag Team Championship in an open challenge!

SHOW OPENER PROMO

Kevin Nash is given a heroes welcome as he shakes off his loss to Hollywood Hulk Hogan last week in a match where Nash was after Hogan's nWo leadership title. However, as far as Nash is concerned, “The Hulkster” isn't a member of the nWo and The Outsiders are longest reigning champions in WCW right now as well as the champs with the most successful defenses. With that information, Nash asks again who truly runs the nWo and who runs WCW.

Bret Hart interrupts and says that whether it's the nWo or DX, The Kliq are a cancer and Sting '99 isn't the only person with a vendetta as Bret is making it his mission to tear down the New World Order and he is accepting The Outsiders' open challenge tonight! However, things don't end there as Bret suddenly launches an attack on Nash, prompting a brawl that “The Hitma” gets the better of!
