With the top prize in tow, Ricochet received a hero's welcome as deafening “You deserve it” chants showered him, the newly crowned NXT Champion recounted his journey to his prize-winning finish line. “This is what happens when you refuse to take ‘no’ for an answer,” he declared. However, Johnny Gargano begged to differ.

After failing to defeat Ricochet in their highly-competitive Two-out-of-Three Falls Triple Threat Match at NXT TakeOver: New York, a fired-up Johnny Gargano pointed out how Tommaso Ciampa ate two consecutive falls during the match. Johnny also talked about how submitting Ciampa during the match is enough for him to come out here and challenge Ricochet to an NXT Championship match one-on-one.

Ricochet is a fighting champion and gladly accepts Gargano's challenge, as he looks forward to removing any doubt of his as NXT Champion.
