LAST WEEK ON SMACKDOWN LIVE: Per an opportunity afforded to him by Mr. McMahon, AJ Styles competed in a series of matches to determine whether he could impress the chairman enough to “truly” earn an opportunity to challenge Jeff Hardy for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania,

The results were controversial as both members of The Bar as well as “The Samoan Submission Machine” Samoa Joe picked up victories against AJ (not to mention a no contest due to a blindside attack by “The New” Daniel Bryan). However, AJ would go on to defeat one of the highest ranked Superstars of the bunch, “The Viper” Randy Orton as well as a non-title victory against the WWE Champion Jeff Hardy himself!

AJ Styles reveals that although Mr. McMahon was impressed with the fortitude of “The Phenomenal One”, he wasn't impressed enough. However, with AJ's non-title win against the WWE Champion, Jeff Hardy, his hands are tied and thus he has no choice but to make AJ challenging Jeff Hardy for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania official!

Styles continues by also revealing that Mr. McMahon has made it clear that he still thinks AJ is a B+ player due to last week's results, and although AJ's ticket to WrestleMania has been punched, the chairman must wonder if AJ's compatriots, Gallows and Anderson are B+ players too. As a result, Mr. McMahon has made a Triple Threat Tornado Tag Team Match tonight and if Gallows and Anderson don't pick up the win then their road to WrestleMania ends tonight!

NEXT: Not taking kindly to Billie Kay referring to her as the “third wheel” in the WrestleMania main event, Charlotte Flair challenges Mandy Rose for the SmackDown Women's Championship, an impromptu title bout that leaves everyone guessing how it came together. What would a victory for The Queen mean for her history-making WrestleMania main event?

Shane then interrupts and after forcing ring announcer Greg Hamilton to introduce him as “The Best in the World,” Shane lays into Miz before accepting his challenge. Shane-O-Mac then makes it personal by wondering what the “real” reason was that Maryse and Miz haven't been seen together as of late on WWE TV. Miz gets right in Shane's face who clocks Miz with his mic, sparking a brawl that The Miz gets the better of!
