SHOW OPENER PROMO

The Rated-R Superstar” soaks in the moment with the WWE Championship '05-'13 over his shoulder and says last week wasn’t just another win it was history. Edge reminds everyone that Razor Ramon fell just like Shawn Michaels ’97 and Diesel before him, and with that victory he didn’t just beat another legend, he beat The Kliq. Edge points out that ten successful title defenses (a Legends brand WWE Title record) isn’t luck, it’s proof that he belongs at the top of the Legends brand and this WWE Championship '05-'13 isn’t going anywhere.

“The American Dream” steps out, smiling but serious, saying that last week he stood toe-to-toe with André the Giant and walked out standing because hard times don’t scare him, they make him stronger. Dusty congratulates Edge on ten defenses and says that kind of run earns respect. He tells Edge that championships aren’t just about numbers, they’re about heart, grit, and the will to carry a legacy on your back, and that’s something Dusty's done his whole life. Dusty finishes by saying the Dream didn’t come to just applaud the champion — he came to challenge him, and at the next opportunity, he wants Edge for the WWE Championship ’88-’98, daddy!

MIDDLE CARD PROMO

Ariya Daivari says everyone keeps talking about Rey Mysterio like he’s untouchable, but fairy tales don’t last forever. Daivari says that while Rey flies around for the crowd, he studies weaknesses and waits for the perfect moment to strike. He promises that when Rey finally looks across the ring and sees him standing there, he won’t be looking at another challenger, he’ll be staring at the man who’s about to ground the legend and take the Cruiserweight Championship '01-'07 for himself.

INTERVIEW: The Rock ($500 Shirt) talks about how since The Rock 'N' Sock Connection beat The Outsiders for their WCW World Tag Team Titles, Hall and Nash have been getting their butts handed to them. Just this past Monday night on Nitro, Mankind and “Latino Heat” put the boots to the nWo. The Rock foresees that Eddie Guerrero is going to beat Hall for the WCW Hardcore Title next week and then the week after that The Brahma Bull and Mankind will tie everything up with a bow by beating Hall and Nash from pillar to post one more time.

MIDDLE CARD PROMO

Chyna admits that SmackDown '00 last week didn’t go the way she planned, but says one loss doesn’t erase who she is or what she’s capable of. “The Ninth Wonder of the World” says Lita caught her once, but that only lit a fire under her, and she’s not finished until she proves exactly why she vowed to dominate the entire Women’s division. Chyna makes it clear she wants Lita again, not for excuses or for redemption, but to show that when the dust settles, Chyna still rules this ring.

Molly Holly then steps out saying she’s heard Chyna plans on marching through the division and putting her name at the top of the list. Molly says she respects Chyna’s strength, but respect doesn’t mean fear, and she’s spent her career beating women who thought size alone would carry them to victory. She reminds Chyna that discipline wins championships, and if Chyna wants to prove she belongs at the top after falling to Lita, then Molly Holly is more than ready to be the next test.

MIDDLE CARD PROMO

Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat says last week’s loss to Kurt Angle ’01 didn’t settle anything for him, because competitors like him don’t back away after one defeat, they come back smarter and more determined. Steamboat says Angle didn’t break his spirit, and if Angle truly believes he’s the best wrestler in the world, then he should have no problem stepping back into the ring and proving it again.

Kurt Angle '01 appears smug and dismissive at first, saying Steamboat already had his shot and blew it, and he doesn’t owe anyone a rematch. Angle scoffs at Steamboat, then suddenly stops, smirks, and says maybe he has been thinking about it… because beating Ricky Steamboat twice would leave absolutely no doubt who the superior wrestler is. Angle agrees to the rematch and sets it for next week, flashing an overly confident grin.

MIDDLE CARD PROMO

Macho Man” Randy Savage is looking to follow in Dusty Rhodes' footsteps from last week and challenges André The Giant in hopes that a monolithic victory of his own will lead to a WWE Championship '88-'98 opportunity of his own. Perhaps against Dusty himself.

LAST WEEK ON SMACKDOWN '00: Triple H '01 and Shawn Michaels '97 of D-Generation X defeated Bret “Hitman” Hart and Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart of The Hart Foundation in a bout that saw Shawn inadvertently knock out the official as he was breaking up a pin attempt that led to Triple H seizing the opportunity to level The Anvil with a low blow which was followed by a vicious spinebuster for the victory.

SHOW CLOSER PROMO

Bret “The Hitman” Hart refuses to walk away and cower at the back of the line after that injustice last week and promise that The Hart Foundation will strike back at DX with great vengeance and fury anger. If anyone is destined to take down DX, it's The Hart Foundation.

Tripe H '01 dismisses Bret's comments as bitter expressions from a curmudgeon and adds that if Bret was truly “The Excellence of Execution” and “The Best There Is, The Best There Was and The Best There Ever Will Be” then he should've been able to overcome any and every obstacle last week but in the end it was D-Generation X who left with the gold.

Bret takes a cue from tonight's No Holds Barred Intercontinental Title '94 bout and challenges DX to a No Holds Barred Tag Team Match.

Bret “Hitman” Hart vs Triple H '01

PROMO BATTLE WINNER: Bret “Hitman” Hart

INTERVIEW: Diesel smirks and says last week proved exactly what he already knew - Steve Austin couldn’t beat him. He says the record books will show that he won by countout because Austin couldn’t take the punishment and couldn’t get back in the ring in time. Shawn Michaels '97 jumps in, laughing that champions are supposed to stand and fight, not scramble back to the locker room clutching their ribs. Diesel closes by saying tonight isn’t about the ten-count, it’s about proving what last week already showed: when Austin and Diesel are in the same ring, Big Daddy Cool is the one who walks out the winner.

INTERVIEW: Stone Cold Steve Austin isn't here to argue who won last week. Diesel did, and that’s the problem. Austin admits he misjudged the situation, but makes it clear that championships aren’t won by referees counting to ten, they’re won by pinning shoulders to the mat. He says Diesel can brag about a countout all he wants, but as long as that Intercontinental Title '94 is around his waist, the job isn’t finished. Austin promises that tonight there won’t be any confusion, no shortcuts, and no excuses because this time, Diesel is stepping into the ring with a rattlesnake who’s not giving him any ways out.
