TNA Impact Wrestling: May Mayhem
May, Week 4, Year 1

Eli Drake comes out to brag about how he defeated Ethan Carter III, the #1 contender for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship at Victory Road this past Sunday. He presumes that since he has defeated the #1 contender then common logic dictates that Eli Drake is the true #1 contender. Drake then calls out the TNA World Heavyweight Champion Eddie Edwards but ends up getting answered by EC3 who defends his position as the #1 contender. EC3 has already clinched his spot in the Slammiversary main event. Carter challenges Eli to a rematch tonight to decide who the real #1 contender.

TNA World Heavyweight Champion Eddie Edwards is interviewed and says that he doesn't care who he faces for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship at Slammiversary. Edwards wants EC3 and Eli Drake to take each other to the absolute limit because Eddie wants to take part in unforgettable competition in the main event of this year's Slammiversary. Davey Richards joins the interview and talks about the fact that they are actually the #1 contenders for the TNA World Tag Team Championships and they are going to have their eyes peeled on the TNA World Tag Team Championship match tonight on May Mayhem.

Footage is shown of The Hardys defeating the TNA World Tag Team Champions Grado and Mahabali Shera in a non-title match at TNA One Night Only: Victory Road 2016 this past Sunday.
