NXT General Manager, William Regal reveals that in two weeks on NXT, the NXT Champion Samoa Joe will be defending his NXT Championship against the winner of tonight's #1 contender's match between “The King of Strong Style” Shinsuke Nakamura and Finn Balor. Will Nakamura remain on-course for a meeting against “The Samoan Submission Machine” in two weeks on NXT? Or Will Balor be the one with an NXT Championship match in his near future?

Speaking of the NXT Championship, Samoa Joe has asked for a tune-up match tonight and so NXT GM, William Regal has signed a match between Joe and “The Perfect 10” Tye Dillinger. Although this is being called a tune-up match for Samoa Joe, this is a surefire opportunity for a future championship match for “The Perfect 10”. It goes without saying that a victory over the NXT Champion tonight will provide great results for Tye Dillinger.

With a big win over Tino Sabbatelli and Riddick Moss two weeks ago on NXT, The Ealy Brothers look to continue their momentum tonight as they prepare to face one of the newer dangers in the NXT tag team division.

Before ultimately losing her match to Liv Morgan last week on NXT, Alexa Bliss commented that she was “going after Bayley”. Bayley hasn't competed in NXT since her loss to Carmella back in May that has seemed to stop Bayley in her tracks. She did not even have a match at NXT TakeOver: The End. And now all of the other Superstars in the locker room are looking at her as someone who is already on the decline and as someone who they can use for an “easy” victory to launch their career's further. That is the case for her match tonight against Sonya Deville. Bayley is a former NXT Champion that already has several historic and unforgettable matches under her belt. However, Sonya Deville is one of those Superstars who suspects that Bayley is on the decline and Sonya wants to capitalize. Unfortunately for Sonya, Bayley intends to remind Sonya of just who she is.

That challenge will arrive in the form of “The Princess of Staten Island” as Carmella prepares for an NXT Women's Championship opportunity next week on NXT! With big victories over Peyton Royce and even former NXT Women's Champion Bayley, can Carmella go on to defeat Nia next week and win her second NXT Women's Championship?
