Two weeks ago on NXT, after Samoa Joe retained the NXT Championship in a match against Tye Dillinger, the man-beast, Rhyno, would appear and attack “The Samoan Submission Machine”. However, things would not go according to plan for the “Man Beast” as Samoa Joe would prove his toughness and resiliency by turning the tides of the attack and leave Rhyno laying.

The following week on NXT, Joe would call out Rhyno for trying to involve himself in Joe's business and challenge “The Man Beast” to a match to settle this score. Joe believes that it won't be a settling of scores as much as it will be a simple mauling. An example for the entire NXT locker room, and Shinsuke Nakamura, to take heed of. Joe will even put his NXT Championship on the line...as long as Joe puts up his NXT career. If Rhyno wins then he will become the new NXT Champion. If Samoa Joe loses then he will be banished, exiled and gone from NXT!

The #1 contender for the NXT Women's Championship, Carmella comes out and talks about how she is ready to face whoever walks out of the Asuka/Nia Jax rivalry as the NXT Women's Champion. She has a message for the eventual winner and NXT Women's Champion and the message is for them not to get too comfortable and attached to that championship because it's going to be coming home to the “Princess of Staten Island”.

Footage is shown of Asuka defeating Nia Jax to become the NEW NXT Women's Champion at a WWE Live event in Tokyo, Japan two weeks ago. Nia Jax comes out and talks about how furious she still is about having had to defend the NXT Women's Championship against Asuka in Japan. She once again lets the NXT Universe know that she is not at all worried because she has already defeated Asuka twice and she will damn sure do it again! Nia proclaims that she is ready for Asuka and the NXT Women's Championship rematch next week on NXT.
