My WWE 2K18 Results: WWE No Mercy (Oct.W2.16)

WWE No Mercy
October, Week 2, 2016
Uniondale, NY

Match #1
WWE SmackDown Women's Championship
Normal Match
Nikki Bella (c)(w/Brie Bella) vs Becky Lynch
Winner by submission and NEW WWE SmackDown Women's Champion: Becky Lynch (Dis-Arm-Her)

For the past several weeks, Baron Corbin and the SmackDown Live Commissioner Shane McMahon have squared off in a series of promo battles that have all ended with Corbin dropping Shane with a vicious low blow. Shane would ultimately (and unprofessionally) attack Corbin backstage but was overpowered by “The Lone Wolf”. Tonight, Shane looks to stop at nothing to get his payback while Baron simply looks to continue to up his stock on his way to the top of SmackDown Live.

Match #2
Falls Count Anywhere
Shane McMahon vs Baron Corbin
Winner by pinfall: Baron Corbin (End of Days)

Two months ago on SmackDown Live, the leader of The Wyatt Family, “The Eater of Worlds” Bray Wyatt picked up a big victory over The Undertaker that nobody saw coming. Bray has since been heard whispering about how “The Phenom's time has gone”. Since then, “The Dead Man” has been on a hunt, taking down members of The Wyatt Family before ultimately earning the right to make their match tonight at No Mercy a Hell in a Cell match, a blockbuster stipulation traditionally used by the RAW brand each year. Opponents of “The Phenom” usually dread this hellish encounter but Bray has welcomed it with literal open arms as he prepares to make good on his prophecy of The Undertaker's time as being “gone” right in the devil's own playground.

Match #3
Hell in a Cell
The Undertaker vs Bray Wyatt
Winner by pinfall: The Undertaker

Most nostalgia acts don't stay around the WWE for too long after their returns. They're known even less for capturing championships during their nostalgia run. However, The Headbangers have bucked this trend by shocking the WWE Universe and the SmackDown Live tag team division by winning the WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championship tournament at Backlash. The attitude era tag team has been maintaining their momentum ever since as they prepare to defend their championships against the reigning NXT Tag Team Champions American Alpha who have promised to send The Headbangers back to the attitude era. Can Mosh and Thrasher keep their honeymoon championship run going or will Gable and Jordan become double champions tonight at No Mercy?

Match #4
WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championship
Champions vs Champions
Non-Title
Tag Team Match
The Headbangers (Mosh & Thrasher)(c) vs American Alpha (Chad Gable & Jason Jordan)
Winners and STILL WWE SmackDown Tag Team Champions: The Headbangers (Stage Dive on Jordan)

The reigning WWE Intercontinental Champion Apollo Crews and Dolph Ziggler have had quite the rivalry as of late. After winning the championship at Battleground, Crews would go on to lose the title at Backlash without a single successful championship defense. Apollo refused to let that stand as he went on to pay Ziggler back in kind by making sure that “The Show Off's” title reign only lasted two days. Tonight, they square off in the championship rubber match. One man will walk out as the definitive Intercontinental Champion and the other will head to the back of the line.

Match #5
WWE Intercontinental Championship
Rubber Match
Normal Match
Apollo Crews (c) vs Dolph Ziggler
Winner by pinfall and STILL WWE Intercontinental Champion: Apollo Crews (Standing Moonsault)

Two weeks ago on SmackDown Live, “The Viper” Randy Orton defeated The Miz. The following week on SmackDown Live, Orton was attacked by The Miz alongside Sgt. Slaughter and Jake “The Snake” Roberts. Miz would explain that Slaughter and “The Snake” were eager to join The Miz's cause as they were displeased with how they are legends “killed” by “The Legend Killer” Randy Orton. Now they are happy to aid The Miz on “killing” the “Legend Killer”. Miz would gain even more momentum as the former WWE Champion Slaughter defeated Orton this past Tuesday night on SmackDown Live. Will Miz follow up and win the rematch or can “The Apex Predator” turn the tides and defeat the former WWE Champion in The Miz?

Match #6
Rematch
Normal Match
Randy Orton vs The Miz (w/Maryse, Sgt. Slaughter & Jake “The Snake” Roberts '91)
Winner by disqualification: Randy Orton (Slaughter slid Miz a steel chair that Miz hit both Orton and the official with)

This past July at the WWE Draft on the night that SmackDown went live, AJ Styles defeated the then-WWE Champion Dean Ambrose to win the WWE Championship. “The Lunatic Fringe” would then go on to experience a series of shockingly brief and crushing defeats at the hands of “The Lone Wolf” Baron Corbin at SummerSlam and “The Viper” Randy Orton at Backlash. A rematch clause is all that Ambrose has left as he prepares to put everything he has on the line tonight for redemption as “The Phenomenal One” looks to gain his third championship defense, the most of any Superstar since The Undertaker was champion last year.

Match #7
Main Event
WWE Championship
Rematch
Normal Match
AJ Styles (c) vs Dean Ambrose
Winner by pinfall and NEW WWE Champion: Dean Ambrose (Dirty Deeds)
Post-Match: Ambrose offers a handshake that Styles accepts before raising the arm of “The Lunatic Fringe”.
