Last month on the Christmas edition of SmackDown Live: Natalya defeated Becky Lynch to regain the SmackDown Women's Championship after months of these two Superstars fighting back and forth for the championship. Tonight is Becky's last chance to win back the SmackDown Women's Championship as Natalya looks to rid herself of Becky Lynch tonight.

Promo: The SmackDown Tag Team Champions American Alpha issue an open challenge to any tag team in the locker room who thinks that they are more ready, willing...and Gable. They set the NXT record for most NXT Tag Team Championship defenses and they're looking to set records here on SmackDown Live. They already dispatched The Vaudevillains who spent a lot of the second half of 2016 with the SmackDown Tag Team Championships and American Alpha also dispatched Breezango most recently.

Fun Fact: Last year at the Royal Rumble, The Usos defeated The Ascension to retain the WWE Tag Team Championships!

Last Tuesday night on SmackDown: John Cena and Dean Ambrose continued to fight after their non-title match last Tuesday night on SmackDown Live, and even brought out a ladder to end the brawl! The WWE Championship will be up for grabs above the ring at the Royal Rumble Pay-Per-View in a Ladder Match!

Interview: John Cena promises that tonight he is going to personally reintroduce the WWE Universe to the Dean Ambrose that was destroyed by Baron Corbin last year at SummerSlam as well as the Dean Ambrose that “The Viper” Randy Orton made quick work of on the following Pay-Per-View No Mercy.

Backstage: Curtis Axel is with RAW General Manager Mick Foley who is dismissed from the room by RAW Commissioner Stephanie McMahon. Axel asks her to take Bo's place and even offers to give Bo the WrestleMania championship opportuny if Curtis wins and Axelmania runs wild in San Antonio tonight. Stephanie declines Axel's offer, citing that changes have already been made.

BRAWL BETWEEN RIVALS

Unable to wait for their WWE Universal title match, last Monday night on RAW, Brock Lesnar ruined a scheduled match by taking out Neville's opponent, Goldberg. Fighting continued between the two rivals as the referee was unable to control the situation! Tonight, Neville and Goldberg look to finally settle the score and only one of them will continue on the road to WrestleMania as the Universal Champion.

Note: It is revealed that Paul Heyman's absence for the last several months was due to a suspension instituted by RAW General Manager Mick Foley. Many speculate that this was caused by Heyman being a little too overzealous at ringside during Brock Lesnar's matches.
