Last week on SmackDown Live: The WWE Champion Dean Ambrose delivered payback against John Cena with an attack of his own, angered by his rival's actions from two weeks ago when Cena attempted to distract him. Tonight, Ambrose goes one on one against Cena in a non-title rematch just days ahead of their championship match at the Royal Rumble. Who will leave Grand Rapids tonight with some big momentum heading into Sunday?

Also tonight: As the WWE Royal Rumble draws closer, eight WWE Superstars will collide in an 8-Man Over The Top Rope Battle Royal. Who will make a loud statement heading into the Rumble match?

Also tonight: The WWE Intercontinental Champion “The Viper” Randy Orton has accepted Kalisto's bold challenge and will face Kalisto tonight on SmackDown Live with the WWE Intercontinental Championship on the line! Can Kalisto upset “The Apex Predator”?

Promo: SmackDown Live Commissioner Shane McMahon and SmackDown Live General Manager Daniel Bryan reveal that due to Team RAW defeating Team SmackDown in the 2016 Survivor Series, SmackDown Live has lost five entry spots in the Royal Rumble match as a result. To add insult to injury, Triple H of The Authority has placed himself in tonight's Battle Royal (his very last chance to enter the Rumble) with Mr. McMahon's blessing.

John Cena goes over his non-title victory over who he calls “the WWE Champion” Dean Ambrose last week on SmackDown Live. Cena feels that he is now the true WWE Champion with his victory over Ambrose last week and to drive that point home, Cena is challenging Ambrose to a rematch tonight so he can beat Ambrose one more time and make him into an even bigger sham before Cena finally gets his prize this Sunday at the Royal Rumble.

Last week on SmackDown Live: AJ Styles delivered payback against Baron Corbin with an attack of his own, angered by his rival's actions from two weeks ago when he was attacked from behind after his match by Corbin.

Although, “The Phenomenal One” went on to defeat Corbin in their rubber match last week, these two Superstars still have a big scheduled grudge match this Sunday at the Royal Rumble. Will “The Lone Wolf” come back from behind and beat AJ to win the rivalry? Or will AJ Styles put an exclamation point on this rivalry with another win over Corbin?

She talks about how they've been highly contesting for the SmackDown Women's Championship for what seems like months now and both of them always seem to lose the title right back in the title rematch. Lynch promises to break that cycle at the Royal Rumble where she plans to regain the title and then beat Natalya one last time!
