The six competitors will be “The Viper” Randy Orton, John Cena, “The Phenomenal” AJ Styles, “The Bulgarian Brute” Rusev, “The Lone Wolf” Baron Corbin and Jinder Mahal! Who will go on to challenge the WWE Champion, The Rock?

Charlotte Flair, who arrived on SmackDown Live last week via the Superstar Shake-up and was then pegged as the next title challenger, is appalled that she has yet to be granted a SmackDown Women's Championship opportunity. She is then cutoff by Naomi who informs her that Naomi was the #1 contender before Charlotte came along and was handed the keys to the kingdom. Naomi thought that SmackDown was the land of opportunity, yet here she is with an opportunity yanked from her. What has Charlotte done on SmackDown Live?

Charlotte tells Naomi that one thing she can do is beat Naomi right here. She asks Naomi what more she'll say after Charlotte beats the so-called true #1 contender. Naomi replies by telling Charlotte that she would be happy to have Charlotte feel the GLOW right now.

Shane McMahon appears on the stage and makes a #1 contender's match for the SmackDown Women's Championship to kick off SmackDown Live.

A few Superstars in the SmackDown women's division have expressed their displeasure with Charlotte seemingly jumping them in line for a title opportunity.

BACKSTAGE: Charlotte approached Natalya, Tamina and Carmella. Natalya welcomed her to Smackdown Live.

Roman Reigns challenges the winner of the Triple H/Chris Jericho match at Payback and jokes that it always seems to be Seth Rollins or Roman Reigns always putting a stop to Triple H. Kevin Owens interrupts and tells Roman that he will be doing no such thing because Owens in “The Face of America”. Roman makes fun of Kevin by asking him how he could be “The Face of America” when Triple H is the United States Champion, calling him a lapdog. Owens says that The Authority rewards hard-working Superstars who through their hard work become best for business. Owens is the gatekeeper and he's here to stop Roman Reigns who tells him that Kevin may be the gatekeeper but Roman is “The Big Dog” who is going to crash right through those gates tonight!
