SHOW CLOSER PROMO
Faarooq invites The Rock to return home to The Nation of Domination. He adds that they don't need to bicker about who the leader is because Faarooq is fine with being co-leaders with The Rock. The Nation can still compete against The Rock and Mankind this Sunday at Backlash. All The Rock has to do is make sure that Mankind is the one to take the fall and then presto: The Nation become new tag team champions and tag team gold will still be around the waist of The Rock via the Freebird rule (a rule that they will rename as 'The Nation' rule).
The Rock seems to mull over the invitation, repeating the offer that Faarooq laid out. “The Great One” says that he will consider rejoining The Nation if they meet some of his demands. The Rock demands that (1) Kama Mustafa act as his personal bodyguard, (2) D'Lo serves as his personal limousine driver and (3) Faarooq is to be in charge of making sure that The Rock's boots are shined up real nice...
Faarooq vs The Rock
PROMO BATTLE WINNER: Faarooq!
Kama Mustafa runs out to join Faarooq in beating down The Rock when Goldberg (The Rock's Backlash opponent this Sunday) runs out to even the odds. Order is soon restored in the form of a tag team match.

REVIEW
- I really miss the storyline designer mode that used to be in these games. It would be so cool to see these text-based storyline tidbits within the actual game, as limiting as it would probably be.
- The Nation of Domination have been on a bit of a hot streak as of late but they definitely dominated the show tonight. From the show-long storyline of them inviting The Rock back to rejoin The Nation, to D'Lo's improbable but huge upset win over Mankind, to The Nation beating the main event of Backlash.
- I dig this build. The Nation went from perennial (and somewhat meh) lower midcarders to poking their heads in the main event scene. At first, Faarooq's IC title win seemed to have the title kind of boost him up. Now with everything that has gone up, Faarooq seems to also be bringing prestige to the IC title with all of these victories over Superstars like The Rock, Mankind and Goldberg. A great symbiotic relationship.
- Jacqueline seems to be on a similar trajectory as she's someone who's also not been a real focus within her division. With this new rivalry with now-heel Trish Stratus, she's gotten one over on the champ and now squashed one of the most iconic (no pun intended) women's champions of all time.
- I love how this game can boost a Superstar and make them higher-profile than they're known to be. Neville during this 2K18 run has been a prime example of that. It'll be sad to see him go. I'm porting his stats over to his 2K19 CAW counterpart so I hope the 2K18 Neville that I've come to really love will still be there in some form.
- HBK submits Angle once again, this time in a true blue submission match! Can HBK make it a clean sweep at Backlash? The pressure looks to be on the ankle hurtin' sexy Kurt now.
