My WWE 2K18 Results: WWE RAW (May.W4.17)

WWE RAW

May.Week 4.2017

Grand Rapids, MI

LAST WEEK ON RAW: After it was announced that Neville would once again challenge Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship at Extreme Rules (this time with his RAW contract on the line), Neville was attacked from behind after his match. Brock Lesnar had to resort to using a distraction with his entrance music, afraid of facing his rival head-on.

TONIGHT ON MONDAY NIGHT RAW: Neville goes one on one against Finn Bálor! Can “The Man That Gravity Forgot” put “The Beast Incarnate” on notice with a big win against Bálor tonight?

KICKING OFF RAW: With WWE Extreme Rules only six days away, RAW General Manager and hardcore legend Mick Foley felt that it was only appropriate to give the WWE Universe tonight a surprise of the extreme variety. The Intercontinental Champion Bray Wyatt will go one on one against “Mr. Monday Night”, “The Whole Damn Show” Rob Van Dam! Furthermore, Foley announces that if RVD can beat Bray tonight then RVD will return to compete at Extreme Rules this Sunday!

MATCH #1

(RIVALRY)

(Non-Title)

Normal Match

Bray Wyatt vs Rob Van Dam '06

Pre-Match: Bray Wyatt is attacked on the entrance-way by Bobby Roode, slammed into the steel steps and thrown into the ring as the official bans Roode from ringside.

LAST WEEK ON RAW: Goldust ambushed R-Truth, his now-former tag team partner, backstage. However, R-Truth was able to fight back and fend off his attacker.

UPDATE: R-Truth is at home recuperating from minor injuries sustained from his ambush last week. When approached for comment, Goldust (now speaking like an artistic film director), simply cryptically says that his vision was there last week but reshoots need to be scheduled to reshoot that ending.

MIDDLE CARD PROMO

The Miz talks about how two weeks ago, RAW Commissioner Stephanie McMahon and RAW GM Mick Foley simultaneously appointed Dean Ambrose and The Miz as co-acting GM for the night. Dean would lose to the Intercontinental Champion Bray Wyatt while Miz took down THE BIG SHOW like it was nothing. Judging by what transpired, there doesn't even need to be a match between them to find out who's better because the results speak for themselves.

The Lunatic Fringe” interrupts and congratulates The Miz on beating Big Show. That is literally a Herculean feat. Ambrose also gives credit to Bray Wyatt for besting him and says that when you battle Bray, you have to compete in two matches: a physical match and a mental one and on that night Bray showed why he is one the best at mental combat. However, Dean is still confident that he can beat The Miz but if Miz is too unsure of himself to accept the challenge then Ambrose understands.

Miz gets riled up and tells Ambrose that he'll see him at Extreme Rules. There he can expect The Miz to make quick work of him just like Baron Corbin made quick work of Ambrose last year at SummerSlam and just like Randy Orton made quick work of Ambrose last year at Backlash!

Paul Heyman introduces himself as the advocate for the reigning, defending and undisputed WWE Universal Champion, Brock Lesnar and he has a run-in with Finn Bálor. He tells Finn how he sees something in him, unlike Neville. Heyman views Neville as a victim for Brock whereas the idea of Bálor challenging Brock intrigues Heyman. Heyman even went so far as to say that a Bálor victory was the outcome he was pulling for, wishing Finn luck on Lesnar's behalf. Bálor responded by giving Heyman a message for “The Conqueror” in return: That he would indeed beat Neville tonight and then be the next in line to challenge for the Universal Title!
