TWO WEEKS AGO AT WWE EXTREME RULES: Samoa Joe came out victorious in the Extreme Rules Fatal 5-Way Match and will once again challenge the WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar at this season's Great Balls of Fire PPV.

SHOW OPENER PROMO

Seth Rollins wants to be known as “The Kingslayer of SummerSlam” as he plans to challenge Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship at SummerSlam. Samoa Joe quickly cuts Seth off to lay out what really is going to transpire between now and “The Biggest Party of the Summer”.

Joe explains that at Great Balls of Fire Joe will put “The Beast” to sleep and take the Universal Championship. Then Brock and his advocate will surely activate Brock's rematch clause and challenge Joe to a rematch at SummerSlam, thus leaving Rollins out of the SummerSlam Universal Championship equation completely.

TONIGHT: RAW General Manager Kurt Angle announces that the #1 contender for the Universal Championship at Great Balls of Fire, Samoa Joe, will go one on one against Seth Rollins!

BACKSTAGE: Elias Samson refuses to perform in front of the WWE Universe here in Las Cruces, NM. Instead he will tape his performance for a more deserving audience. Finn Bálor (who's developed a hot streak lately with huge wins against Braun Strowman and even Samoa Joe) interrupts the proceedings to challenge The Miz for the Intercontinental Championship at Great Balls of Fire.

EARLIER TONIGHT: Goldust, the bizarre film aficionado speaking to you from his director's chair, is used to giving scathing reviews while his Shattered Dreams Productions always leaves you to remember his name. But tonight, Goldust has realized that The Miz truly is RAW's leading man.

With the Intercontinental Championship around his waist, Maryse on his arm, a collection of Hollywood films under his belt and even The Miztourage to watch his back, Goldust has realized that The Miz not only has become what Goldust has always encompassed, but The Miz has surpassed it!

Goldust announces that he is relinquishing his opportunity for the Intercontinental Championship and auditions to join The Miztourage! Furthermore, Goldust plans on taking down Finn Bálor tonight before Finn can ever get close to knocking on The Miz's gates.

Bray Wyatt talks about how Braun Strowman hunts Seth Rollins and how that is no way to live...with a “Monster Among Men” on your heels. Bray takes credit for unearthing that monster and suggests that Seth should realize that while his fear of the monster is justified, fear of its creator must be dauntingly haunting.

TWO WEEKS AGO AT WWE EXTREME RULES: Cedric Alexander defeated Neville in a Submission Match with the Dragon Sleeper to retain the WWE Cruiserweight Championship!

RECENTLY: Titus O'Neil has been looking to sign Akira Tozawa to The Titus Brand but Tozawa has remained unsure about the proposition. Lately, Titus has been working out arrangements for Tozawa to display his talents such as a match and ensuing victory against Gran Metalik last week on 205 Live.

TONIGHT: Titus has arranged for Akira Tozawa (#10) to take on Noam Dar (#9) tonight as a way to show Tozawa that when you're with The Titus Brand there's nowhere to go but up.

BACKSTAGE: With a half-hearted promise of a future title opportunity, the former RAW Women's Champion Alexa Bliss approaches Nia Jax and gets her to be in her corner tonight in her championship rematch against Paige.
