As the WWE Universe in Anchorage, Alaska give John Cena a hero's welcome, Cena formally announced that he will challenge “The Viper” Randy Orton for the WWE Championship in two weeks at WWE Battleground. He also announced that he is now officially a free agent before passionately claiming that he was here to prove all his doubters wrong and he was ready to take on the best on both SmackDown Live and RAW.

Cena then addresses someone who has been calling him out all week on social media, Rusev. “The Super Athlete sarcastically congratulates John before bursting his bubble by informing Cena that he may have won a #1 contender's match last week but Rusev is currently ranked #1 in the WWE Championship division so it should be Rusev going to Battleground to crush “The Viper”.

John Cena offers to roll out the red carpet for Rusev if he can beat him tonight. Rusev answers by stating that he shouldn't have to before Cena informs Rusev that he has already spoken to SmackDown Live Commissioner Shane McMahon and the two will in fact compete in a #1 contender's match tonight!

NEXT: The WWE United States Champion Chris Jericho's plans for another “You Just Made The List” Open Challenge for the United States Championship were derailed when a fed-up “Face of America” Kevin Owens threatened legal action if SmackDown Live Commissioner Shane McMahon or SmackDown Live General Manager Daniel Bryan continued to deny him his rematch clause for a rematch at the United States Championship.
