Sami Zayn interrupts SmackDown Live General Manager Daniel Bryan who expressed disappointment in Sami for his actions over the past several weeks. Zayn fired back, demeaning Bryan and denouncing their former friendship. Kevin Owens then appeared to back up all of Zayn's claims, suggesting that Bryan has become the ultimate hypocrite by taking a managerial position within WWE. This drew the ire of Bryan, who while still believing that the old Sami may still exist, was going to find two opponents to square off against Owens & Zayn later tonight.

LAST MONTH ON SMACKDOWN LIVE: Shelton Benjamin and Chad Gable scored their first pair of tag team victories against The Ascension!

TONIGHT: After The Ascension's big win last week earning them #1 contendership for the SmackDown Tag Team Championship, Konnor and Viktor must get through Shelton Benjamin and Chad Gable if they want to make it to their title opportunity!

The challenge sends shockwaves throughout the WWE Universe, with thoughts about what it would be like if RAW and SmackDown Live's top champions were to clash in an epic brand versus brand showdown.

AJ Styles appears, pointing out that John's idea would involve not defending the WWE Championship on the PPV. Styles finds it convenient that he is the current #1 contender for the WWE Championship and his candidacy is getting passed up in favor of Brock Lesnar. The two traded verbal barbs leading Cena to offer Styles the PPV title match in question!
