Mercedes says that Ember Moon won't be the one to win the NXT Women's Championship because she can't win the big ones.

INTERVIEW: Ember Moon is asked about Mercedes Martinez’ comments and Ember says Mercedes can meet her in the ring next week to see why she is the biggest threat for the NXT Women’s Championship!

TWO WEEKS AGO ON NXT: “The Pirate Princess” Kairi Sane came out victorious in an NXT Women's Championship qualifying Eight-Woman Over-The-Top-Rope Battle Royal and will be competing in the Fatal 4-Way Match for the NXT Women's Championship at NXT TakeOver!

WWE.COM INTERVIEW LAST WEEK: The Iconic Duo complain about how Kairi Sane stole Billie’s spot in the NXT Women's Championship Match. Peyton and Billie then proceed to make fun Kairi Sane's entrance attire.

IN THE OFFICE OF THE NXT GENERAL MANAGER: NXT GM William Regal meets with Kassius Ohno who says he's had some ups and downs, but now he's firing on all cylinders. Kassius wants in on the NXT Title picture and wants to wants to face Lars Sullivan at TakeOver. Ohno wants to see if he can make a dent into that battleship of a man and Regal gives him the match.

INTERVIEW: Zelina Vega is asked about Andrade “Cien” Almas’ match against Drew McIntyre at NXT TakeOver and her strategy. She says she wouldn't be as successful as she is by giving away her strategies. The only person who knows her strategies is Andrade. Almas is asked about his relationship with Zelina and Zelina tells him not to answer. She says they have a past and she knows the real Andrade. The issue is not Almas in the past, it is beating him now. Andrade is so much better than everyone and Drew will find that out at TakeOver.

LAST MONTH ON NXT: The Velveteen Dream defeated Lio Rush.

TONIGHT: While Lio Rush looks to even the score, The Velveteen Dream looks to pick up another victory over Lio and get him to say his name.

THREE WEEKS AGO ON NXT: Ruby Riot hurt her ankle in the Triple Threat Match where Ember Moon won (pinning Sonya Deviile) to advance to the NXT Women's Championship Match at NXT TakeOver.

IN THE BACKSTAGE AREA: Sonya tells Ruby that her hurt ankle could have been avoided if she just tapped out. Sonya calls Ruby a coward that is now out of the NXT Women’s Championship Match and insists that Sonya herself should be in the title match. Ruby tells Sonya that she shouldn’t make excuses and suggests a match between them. Sonya responds by vowing to break Ruby's ankle.

IN THE EXTERIOR OF THE ARENA: The Street Profits stop someone and give him a Street Profits cup. Someone else arrives and he has a suit to deliver to Tino Sabbatelli which Montez Ford takes. Tino and Riddick Moss show up and Tino says the suit is $5,000 before Riddick tells them to stop touching their stuff. Angelo Dawkins in turn tells them that they should have a match next week to settle things.

NEXT WEEK ON NXT: Ember Moon will face Mercedes Martinez! Also, there will be two face to face meetings, NXT Champion Johnny Gargano will meet the #1 contender for the NXT Championship Roderick Strong and Drew McIntyre will meet Andrade “Cien” Almas!

NEXT: No Way Jose goes one on one against Adam Cole! No Way Jose hopes that a victory over Cole will further prove that he can have fun but also get the job done while Cole looks to beat No Way Jose and take his highly coveted spot near the top of the NXT rankings.
