LAST NIGHT AT SUMMERSLAM: Seth Rollins defeated Braun Strowman to retain the WWE Universal Championship!

SHOW OPENER PROMO

Seth Rollins is a fighting champion and is ready to prove it by putting his title on the line tonight. Rollins reviews the rankings and considers possible challengers, crossing Braun Strowman off the list after last night at SummerSlam. And with John Cena and Brock Lesnar not in attendance tonight, Seth stops at the next name on the list: “The Big Dog” Roman Reigns!

Constable Baron Corbin immediately rejects Rollins' decision citing that Roman Reigns lost to Brock Lesnar last night and that Seth seemed to forget Corbin himself (the man who BEAT John Cena last night) on the rankings list. The RAW General Manager Kurt Angle then comes out and approves Seth's decision to defend the Universal Title against Roman Reigns tonight and Corbin will compete to kick off RAW!

Corbin then goes to cheap shot Rollins which provokes a brawl that Seth gets the better of!

Triple H feels there is nothing he could do to top the iconic image of The Undertaker, Shawn Michaels and himself atop the ramp at WrestleMania XXVIII. After that match, HBK would step out of the spotlight, The Phenom's streak would end, and The Game himself would trade in his boots for a suit. A trio of events that seemed to truly close the book on the three former champions' era.

Ultimately, this doesn't sit well with Triple H. Unwilling to pass up a chance to recapture the old magic, The Game decides to lace up the boots once more at WWE Super Show-Down against The Undertaker For one last time, “The Era is back.”

Between having Corbin face Lashley and failing to prevent Ronda from attacking Stephanie, Angle ended the show with the rest of RAW's governing body firmly against him. These events have prompted Stephanie to inform Angle that she was giving him a “vacation” to ostensibly recharge his batteries, promoting Corbin to Acting General Manager in the meantime!
