TONIGHT ON SUMMERSLAM '88: Since gathering back together, The Kliq have been hellbent on running the show. With “The Heartbreak Kid” Shawn Michaels '97 set to challenge “The Rated R Superstar” Edge tomorrow night on RAW IS WAR, “The Bad Guy” Razor Ramon and HBK look to take down Edge and Christian and send the message that The Kliq are back on top.
RECENTLY: Booker T resorted to the use of a foreign object to attain a big (but tainted) victory against The Ultimate Warrior who hasn't been seen since. “Rowdy” Roddy Piper took issue with Booker's actions which the 5x WCW Champ called hypocritical. Things would soon escalate with Piper being attacked by Booker and The Big Boss Man which led to Piper interfering against Booker three nights ago on SmackDown!.
MATCH #1
Normal Match
Booker T vs “Rowdy” Roddy Piper
WINNERS: “Rowdy” Roddy Piper
Method: Pinfall
Finish: Knee Lift
RECENTLY: With seemingly no championship opportunity in X-Pac's future, he decided on a move that would net him similar results to a title win. And that move would be a major win over a major name on the WWE Legends brand. X-Pac issued a challenge to none other than one of the greatest in-ring competitors of all-time, Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat with the added bonus that the two will surely put on a great show.
However, Steamboat has been very apprehensive of the challenge. He accepts it nonetheless but remains cautious of X-Pac's Kliq ties, a group who are notorious for making sure they got their way at certain points in the WWE and a group who are very much involved in a power struggle at this very moment to once again “take over and run the show”. Despite his ties, X-Pac insists that his intentions are simply for friendly competition.
Before Steamboat can respond, “The Game” Triple H '01 confronts him and delivers a warning that messing with any member of The Kliq will not be tolerated. This provokes Steamboat to make it clear that he will not be one to kneel before The Kliq just to survive. The Dragon does this by attacking Triple H '01 and getting the better of him in a brawl. As a result, The Dragon has now found himself in the crosshairs of The Kliq.
NEXT: Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat versus X-Pac! Is the WWE Universe still in store for that bout of friendly, respectful and competitive action that X-Pac promised? Or will the recent aggression with Triple H '01 result in a much more hostile affair?

RECENTLY: After recent rumblings about his perception with WWE, “The American Dream” Dusty Rhodes is on a mission to make it clear that he's every bit the World Heavyweight Champion that he was in WCW. However, with no immediate title opportunity for him to prove his statement, The Dream looked to attain a world championship-adjacent challenge by insinuating a challenge against the biggest dog in WWE's yard. This led to Batista answering Dusty's call with a direct challenge to Dusty as The Animal is looking to kickstart a path of domination and destruction at the expense of The Dream.

PREVIOUSLY: After Jake “The Snake” Roberts found himself in possession of The Undertaker '91's urn, The Snake and The 1991 Dead Man have been a force to be reckoned with as several have tried and failed to rip The Undertaker '91's urn away from Roberts.
TONIGHT: Triple H and Shawn Michaels '05 of D-Generation X aren't interested in ripping nay urns away from anyone. They're only out to prove with gold that D-Generation X (and The Kliq by extension) are the greatest force in WWE history.

RECENTLY: After a move from the WWE Legends' Intercontinental Title division to the WWE Legends' Title division by “The Macho Man” Randy Savage, “The Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase has been trying to nip this potential threat to DiBiase's championship aspirations in the bud.

NEXT: “Big Daddy Cool” Diesel goes one-on-one with The Rock! After The Kliq dissipated from the WWE as the 90s went on, The Rock would come in and become a legendary Superstar. Now The Great One finds himself in a scenario where The Kliq and he now share the same battlefield and “Big Daddy Cool” is looking to establish Kliq dominance and make sure that The Rock knows that he is second fiddle to him as well as them!

EARLIER THIS MONTH: Eddie Guerrero picked up a big win against Ric Flair '91 which entered Latino Heat's name into the conversation for an opportunity at the WWE Championship '05-'13. This prompted fellow title contender, Kurt Angle '01 to publicly downplay Eddie's recent momentum.
