TONIGHT: After defeating The New Day this past Sunday in thrilling tag team action on the SummerSlam Kickoff, The Usos return to take on The New Day!

After losing to Randy Orton at SummerSlam, Rusev is out to immediately regain momentum. He's gotten together with his old ally Jinder Mahal (who was also defeated on Sunday at the hands of The Brothers of Destruction) and they are planning to make an example out of Shinsuke Nakamura (who also came up short in the SummerSlam WWE Championship match against John Cena) and The Undertaker tonight!

EARLIER TONIGHT IN THE OFFICE OF THE SMACKDOWN LIVE GENERAL MANAGER: Now that his former tag team partner Jason Jordan has moved to RAW, Chad Gable is left to ponder about his future on the blue brand. SmackDown Live General Manager Daniel Bryan revealed that in exchange for sending Jordan to RAW, RAW General Manager Kurt Angle helped SmackDown Live sign a good friend of “The Olympic Hero”: Shelton Benjamin! And, not only had Bryan inked the former Intercontinental, United States and Tag Team Champion, but “The Gold Standard” was interested in forming a tag team with Gable. Astonished that he would get the chance to team up with one of his heroes, Gable jumped at the opportunity.

EARLIER TONIGHT IN THE OFFICE OF THE SMACKDOWN LIVE COMMISSIONER: Now former WWE United States Champion Kevin Owens is reading the riot act to SmackDown Live Commissioner Shane McMahon about how KO's match against Chris Jericho at SummerSlam was supposed to be a one-on-one affair until the very last minute when Shane decided to add AJ Styles to the match, and for what? So AJ could be the one to eat the pin and presto Shane gets his wish to not have KO as “The Face of America”.

Shane gives KO his championship rematch tonight but with the caveat that should Kevin lose tonight then he can no longer challenge for the United States Championship as long as Chris Jericho is Champion.

IN THE BACKSTAGE AREA: Kevin Owens meets with “The Lone Wolf” Baron Corbin about being in KO's corner tonight. The hesitant Corbin agrees after Owens promises him a future United States Championship match.

NOTE: After seeing this transpire, Shane McMahon decides (in the interest of fairness) to be in Jericho's corner tonight to even things up against Owens and Corbin.

NEXT: With Lana by her side, Ms. Money in the Bank, Tamina, is looking to become an unstoppable force in the SmackDown Live Women's division. Beginning her ascent tonight against Brie Bella, Tamina looks to heed The Ravishing Russian's advice to crush Brie!

Had Jinder been in Nakamura's shoes he would be the WWE Champion right now. So tonight, with Rusev by his side, they're going to eliminate The Undertaker nuisance as well as showcase why it should be Jinder and Rusev at the top of SmackDown Live!
