Last week on NXT, Peyton Royce came out with Billie Kay to brag and boast about how she defeated a former NXT Women's Champion in Bayley two weeks ago. Peyton called the victory a sign of greater things to come and said that Asuka is lucky that she isn't facing Peyton at NXT TakeOver: The End because Royce would definitely defeat Asuka and take the NXT Championship. Peyton was then interrupted by an Ember Moon vignette which cryptically implied that Peyton Royce would be dealing with Ember at NXT TakeOver: The End. NXT General Manager, William Regal later confirmed that Peyton and Ember would indeed face off at NXT TakeOver: The End. Tonight, Billie Kay looks to soften Ember Moon for her best friend, Peyton. Will Billie Kay succeed or will Ember send an emphatic statement to Peyton?

Paul Ellering sends a message of retribution to TM-61 and promises that The Authors of Pain will unleash a barrage of pain the likes of which Shane Thorne and Nick Miller have never felt before. They will be devoured and will serve as the catalyst for the eventual capture of the NXT Tag Team Championships that will soon belong to The Authors of Pain.

Carmella is interviewed and talks about how she has been waiting and training hard for her match tonight with Bayley. She acknowledges Bayley as one of the top women in NXT and Carmella wants to be among those women that have held the NXT Women's Championship and a victory over Bayley tonight would be one step closer for Carmella in her mission to win the NXT Women's Championship.

On the flipside, since the premiere of the WWE 2K18 Universe, Bayley has been scratching, clawing and trying to reclaim her place in the NXT Women's Championship picture. Currently, Bayley is ranked #4 in the women's rankings and rising star, Carmella is right behind her at #5. So tonight, Bayley looks to defend her ground as she looks to find her way back to the NXT Women's Championship.

Post-Match: Carmella offers a handshake that Bayley accepts before raising Carmella's arm in a sign of good sportsmanship.

The NXT Tag Team Champions, American Alpha (Chad Gable and Jason Jordan) are interviewed and address Jordan losing to Tommaso Ciampa last week. They give #DIY (Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa) a tremendous amount of credit and have an immeasurable level of respect for them but American Alpha's mission are to be the greatest NXT Tag Team Champions in NXT history. Chad warns Johnny Gargano that when they face each other in their singles match before their upcoming NXT Tag Team Championship match at NXT TakeOver: The End, Gable will be the fiercest that he has ever been. American Alpha will then ride into NXT TakeOver: The End with all of the momentum in their favor and they will finally demonstrate that while #DIY are an extremely talented team, American Alpha is simply the best. They have no doubt that #DIY will give them absolutely everything that they can handle but it be Jordan and Gable that will be the ones with the NXT Tag Team Championships at the end of the night!

A video package is shown promoting what some are considering a dream match between two of Japan's best competitors. At NXT TakeOver: The End, it will be Hideo Itami taking on Shinsuke Nakamura! The winner will become the #1 contender for the NXT Championship! Since arriving in NXT, Nakamura has naturally gravitated towards the main event picture while Itami has battled setbacks and injuries. Itami is readier than ever to remind everyone of just how fierce he was in Japan and a victory at NXT TakeOver: The End over the much buzzed about Nakamura would certainly accomplish this. It would be the biggest win of Itami's career. Will he achieve his goal? Or will Shinsuke be the one to challenge the NXT Champion, Samoa Joe?

Post-Match: Almas decides against leaving to stomp away at Bononi.

A video package is shown highlighting the destruction that Nia Jax is capable of inflicting. Several female NXT Superstars are interviewed and mention how intimidating Nia is and how they feel that Asuka should fear a big loss at NXT TakeOver: The End. Nia mentions Asuka getting the last word in their brawl last week but assures Asuka that at NXT TakeOver: The End it will be Nia that ends her!

Elias puts down No Way Jose's brand of entertainment and trashes the fans that enjoy him. Elias decrees that everyone should walk with Elias because they will always be hungry for more. So tonight, Elias looks to take down the NXT Universe dancing and smiling hero, No Way Jose and once Elias is left standing, everyone will know that this is Elias' show time now.

NXT Champion, Samoa Joe is on top of the world. He just recently captured the NXT Championship from everybody's darling hero, Finn Balor. He took out Shinsuke Nakamura last week and at NXT TakeOver: The End, he will finish Finn Balor off!

Ember Moon wants Billie Kay to properly explain to her bestie, Peyton, just how bad her neck and back are going to feel once Ember Moon is done with her. Ember says that by the night's end, she will know that fear will have permeated itself into the mind of Peyton Royce!
