SmackDown opens with footage of The Club defeating The Shield last Monday night on RAW when Gallows and Anderson laid out WWE Tag Team Champion Seth Rollins with the magic killer. Seth Rollins kicks off SmackDown and comes out to the ring to challenge Karl Anderson who gloats about The Club defeating The Shield and how they're not only going to beat up The Shield at Money in the Bank but they're going to take all of The Shield's championships! Anderson accepts Rollins challenge to a match tonight and says that Rollins will get a little taste of his upcoming failure at Money in the Bank right here tonight thanks to the “Machine Gun” Karl Anderson.

The competition in the WWE tag team division continues to be red hot. The Usos who are currently ranked as the #2 contenders for the WWE Tag Team Championships square off against The New Day who are currently the #3 contenders. Both tag teams are looking to challenge whichever team walks out of WWE Money in the Bank as the WWE Tag Team Champions. A big victory tonight could insure that one team tonight ends up as the next challengers for tag team gold.

WWE Women's Champion Sasha Banks meets up with Shane McMahon backstage as Shane admits to Sasha that he thought what she did to Charlotte on RAW this past Monday (refusing to tag Charlotte and leaving her to the wolves) was reprehensible. As a result and in the interest of fairness, tonight Sasha will compete in a handicap match against Charlotte and Becky Lynch! Sasha says that this isn't fair at all and storms off.
