Last week after the main event of Nitro concluded, the WCW World Heavyweight Champion Ric Flair '91 and Sting '98 continued to fight, and even brought out a ladder to end the brawl! The WCW World Heavyweight Championship will be up for grabs above the ring in a Ladder Match tonight!

Result: No Contest (Disaster)

Middle Card Promo
Bret “Hitman” Hart '98 comes out and acknowledges his loose affiliation with the nWo but says that tonight is was all about business in his match against Kevin Nash for the WCW United States Championship. It was nothing personal against Nash and he simply only delayed the inevitability of Bret capturing WCW's United States Championship. Bret simply wants to put an end to the whole Canada vs USA rivalry that he's been the captain of and there's no better way to win that war than by having Canada's greatest son capture the WCW UNITED STATES Championship. Hart is then suddenly interrupted by the WCW Hardcore Champion Goldberg '98 who tells Bret that he picked the wrong place to come spouting that anti-USA crap. Bret clarifies that he is simply pro Canada and talks about his country's superiority. Goldberg states that in this ring, the USA's Goldberg is superior to Bret. “The Hitman” is amused and starts to talk about how he is “The Excellence of Excution” and “The Best There Is, The Best There Was and The Best There Ever Will Be” and Bret would take sheer pleasure in demonstrating it to Bill firsthand. Goldberg ends the segment by telling Bret that this USA vs Canada story ends with Goldberg waving that American flag over Bret's face.

Last week on Nitro, Fit Finlay came down to ringside to get a front-row seat to his rival's match. Stunning Steve Austin threw his opponent right into his rival after a heated exchange between the two! Austin has since blamed Finlay for costing him his match against Hart and has finally accepted Finlay's request for a rematch tonight. A rematch from their match two weeks ago where Austin defeated Finlay. “The Stunning One” has promised more of the same tonight and promises to give Finlay a world of hurt tonight.
