LAST WEEK ON SMACKDOWN LIVE: Dean Ambrose came out to the ring and talked about how he refused to be done with John Cena just because the people in charge want him to be. He doesn't care that he lost the WWE Championship match and the following championship rematch. Every time he falls down he gets right back up again. Ambrose is like a rabid dog that will keep getting back up and chomping for more with the same ferocity and promises to make John Cena's life a living hell as long as he's the WWE Champion. “The Lunatic Fringe” called out the new WWE champ and challenged him to a match later that night. A match that the champ won.

SHOW OPENER PROMO

The WWE Champion John Cena comes out and calls out Dean Ambrose in a mocking tone. He makes fun of Ambrose's speech last week about him being like a rabid dog that's going to keep coming after Cena. Cena observes that he's out here in the ring and sees no sign of that rabid dog. He asks if Cena beating him thrice in a row really took the fight out of Ambrose.

MIDDLE CARD PROMO

Mickie James talks about how much Alexa Bliss was an inspiration to her during Mickie's comeback and all throughout her rivalry with Naomi. Mickie couldn't wait to form an alliance with Bliss. However, all of that changed when Alexa spoke to Mickie like she was some NXT rookie. Alexa's condescension was a real slap in Mickie's face and was perhaps a wake-up call that Mickie needed because it's little miss Bliss who should be Mickie's protege and not the other way around. Mickie calls out Alexa to put her in her place if this alliance is to even continue.
