Shane McMahon reveals that last week, after Mr. McMahon introduced Elias as the greatest acquisition in SmackDown LIVE history and Roman Reigns ruined Elias' speech, Mr. McMahon confronted him about it after SmackDown LIVE went off the air and Roman struck the chairman. Shane denounces Roman and suggests that The Big Dog has no respect for the boss or The McMahon Family and contemplates every possible punishment from a heavy fine to termination.

Instead, Shane says that he will simply punish Roman by fighting him. The Big Dog obliges when Shane calls him to the ring, but he is blindsided by Elias who is quickly joined by Shane-O-Mac for a two on one assault!

INTERVIEW: Jeff Hardy is asked about his match tonight against Shinsuke Nakamura. Jeff says that the love, support and magic from the WWE Universe is still there. He’s the WWE Champion and in comes Matt Hardy who tells him to say it again. Jeff repeats himself and says that everything is right with the world. Randy Orton steps in to once again congratulate Jeff and offers to watch his back should he need it against Nakamura and Rusev.

LAST WEEK ON SMACKDOWN LIVE: Ali picked up a huge win against new SmackDown LIVE arrival, Finn Bálor but was laid out afterwards by the WWE Intercontinental Champion Bobby Lashley as it was revealed that the Intercontinental Title was coming to SmackDown LIVE despite Lashley remaining on RAW.

IN THE BACKSTAGE AREA: Rusev is laid out by Randy Orton who appears to be doing Jeff Hardy a favor by evening the odds for Jeff's match against Shinsuke tonight, honoring his promise from last week to watch Jeff's back if he needs it.

MIDDLE CARD PROMO

Coming face to face since their main event at WrestleMania, Charlotte Flair and Bayley met in the ring. Bayley's message for The Queen was simple: Charlotte cannot truly call herself a champion until she pins Bayley. Charlotte retorts, saying that she's defeated Bayley more times than she can keep track of and wants new challengers.

Ember Moon then hit the scene, vouching to get the next title opportunity after Nikki Cross challenges Charlotte at Money in the Bank. Bayley tries to patronize Ember, who squares up to The Hugger. An intently focused Ember suggests that Bayley and her face off right now to determine who would get the future title opportunity.

Charlotte then gets in both of their faces as Bayley then strikes Charlotte, leading to a brawl that Bayley gets the better of!

FIREFLY FUN HOUSE: Bray Wyatt appears dressed in a red sweater alongside Mercy the Buzzard and the Abigail the doll. Wyatt says that everyone will love the new characters and adds that he used to be a bad man, but he’s been barbarically punished for his wrongdoings. However, he does keep a reminder so not even in his weakest moments will he turn into that loser Bray Wyatt again. He then takes a chainsaw and destroys a cardboard cutout of the old Bray Wyatt before promising that he’ll light the way if you let him in.

IN THE BACKSTAGE AREA: Jeff Hardy asks his brother Matt to stay backstage for his match tonight, especially now that Rusev won't be accompanying Shinsuke to the ring tonight. Jeff then tells Randy Orton that he appreciates him leveling the playing field but that he can take care of himself as the WWE Champion.
