My Take: WWE Clash of Champions 2017 (December 17, 2017)

WWE Clash of Champions
December 17, 2017
Boston, MA
TD Garden
On: WWE Network
Commentary: Tom Phillips, Byron Saxton & Corey Graves

Kickoff Match
Normal Match
Zack Ryder vs Mojo Rawley
Winner by pinfall: Mojo Rawley

My Take: I 100% knew that Mojo was winning this one. With that said, I feel that heel Mojo has a ton of legs. Ryder is in Ziggler territory where the fans have loved them for years and years, perhaps more than the WWE themselves. You can only hope for better things for these great guys for only so long.

Match #1
WWE United States Championship
Triple Threat Match
Baron Corbin (c) vs Bobby Roode vs Dolph Ziggler
Winner by pinfall and NEW WWE United States Champion: Dolph Ziggler

My Take: Corbin goes to drop Roode with an End of Days when Ziggler drops Corbin with the ZIg Zag at the same time for the pinfall. Fantastic match. My second favorite match of the night. I also enjoyed how they redid usual and tropey spots like when Roode was going for a pin as Corbin ran in to throw Roode out to steal the pin. Roode counters the steal attempt and throws Corbin out of the ring only to be pulled out of the ring by Corbin. Well done,

Match #2
WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championships
Fatal Four-Way Tag Team Match
The Usos (Jimmy & Jey Uso)(c) vs The New Day (Kofi Kingston & Big E)(w/Xavier Woods) vs Shelton Benjamin & Chad Gable vs Rusev & Aiden English
Winners and STILL WWE SmackDown Tag team Champions: The Usos

My Take: The finish saw Gable deliver a pair of Rolling German Suplexes on English and Big E. He went to give one to one of the Usos one but was given a Superkick in turn. Gable got Splashed as The Usos retained. This was my match of the night.

Match #3
WWE SmackDown Women's Championship
Lumberjack Match
Charlotte Flair (c) vs Natalya
Winner and STILL WWE SmackDown Women's Champion: Charlotte Flair

My Take: Natalya is heartbroken after the match as she is interviewed. She's in tears blaming everyone.

Match #4
Tag Team Match
The Bludgeon Brothers (Harper & Rowan) vs Breezango (Fandango & Tyler Breeze)
Winners: The Bludgeon Brothers

My Take: I wish it was anyone other than Breezango in this match. They cast off The Fashion Files to WWE.com and they were squashed here. As a big Breezango fan, this saddens me.

Match #5
Special Referee: Shane McMahon & Daniel Bryan
Tag Team Match
Randy Orton & Shinsuke Nakamura vs Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn
Winners: Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn

My Take: Good match. The finish saw Shane refuse to count a pin for Zayn. Bryan shoves off Shane (who doesn't physically retaliate in kind, interestingly enough). Zayn rolls up Orton as Bryan fast counts Sami for the win. This storyline continues as we conveniently roll into 2018. WrestleMania is right around the corner and I hear that there is another Shane McMahon match on the horizon...do you think Bryan will be his opponent?

Match #6
WWE Championship
Normal Match
AJ Styles (c) vs Jinder Mahal (w/The Singh Brothers)
Winner by submission and STILL WWE Champion: AJ Styles

My Take: Good match all things considered. AJ wins after tapping Jinder out to the Calf Crusher.
