My WWE 2K18 Results: WWE SmackDown (July.Week 1)

WWE SmackDown
July, Week 1, Year 1
Nashville, TN

Becky Lynch comes out to kick off SmackDown in Nashville. She talks about how much fun she's had since arriving to “The Music City” and talks about how winning her very first WWE Women's Championship sounds like absolute music to her ears. So when Natalya jumped to social media this past week to proclaim herself as the #1 contender, Becky took issue to that. Natalya comes out and says that she only proclaimed herself as the #1 contender because she earned that claim by defeating Becky two weeks ago right here on SmackDown. Natalya adds salt in the wound by mentioning that Becky was actually ranked as the #1 contender when “The Queen of Harts” defeated her. Becky scoffs at Natalya's attempts to put her down and challenges her to a #1 contender's match tonight that Natalya accepts. Stephanie McMahon comes out and adds more stakes to this match. Not only will the winner be the #1 contender but the winner will challenge Charlotte for the WWE Women's Championship at WWE Battleground in four weeks! Who will challenge Charlotte? Her best friend Becky? Or one of the top women in this industry, Natalya?

Match #1
Tag Team Match
Tyson Kidd & Cesaro vs The Vaudevillains (Aiden English & Simon Gotch)
Winners: Tyson Kidd & Cesaro (Very European Uppercut from Cesaro on Gotch)

Middle Card Promo
Footage is shown of Jack Swagger calling out Brock Lesnar on RAW in a segment that ended in a brawl that left Swagger laying. Swagger comes out to talk about the incident and brings up that before things got ugly, Swagger dropped “The Beast” with a German Suplex of his own. He officially challenges Brock to a match at WWE Battleground and says that it gives him enough time to train properly and intensely enough to face this challenge but he promises that in the end it will pay off as the biggest victory and moment of Jack Swagger's career.

Backstage, The Shining Stars meet up with their opponents tonight, Enzo Amore and Big Cass and suggest to them that a trip to Puerto Rico, “The Shining Star of the Carribean”, would be in the best interest of their health. Especially after the beating that Enzo and Cass are about to get at the hands of The Shining Stars.

Match #2
Tag Team Match
Enzo Amore & Big Cass vs The Shining Stars (Primo & Epico)
Winners: The Shining Stars

Backstage, The Social Outcasts are shown plotting. They are sick of always being left off of RAW and SmackDown and they outright refuse to be left off of tonight's show. Why? Because Heath Slater “The One Man Band” is in Nashville, Tennessee. The Music City! And Slater doesn't need to tell anyone about his music roots in 3MB. Slater is going to go out to that right now, regardless of what Stephanie or Shane McMahon think and he's going to make an open challenge to anyone where he will then demonstrate why Nashville belongs to him.

Match #3
Normal Match
The Honky Tonk Man vs Heath Slater (w/Curtis Axel & Bo Dallas)
Winner by pinfall: Heath Slater (Smash Hit)

Middle Card Promo
Dean Ambrose talks about how proud he is of defeating Brock Lesnar for the WWE Championship and subsequently defending his championship against “The Beast” in a championship rematch. That is exactly the reason why he is not ready to walk away from the WWE Championship. In passing, Ambrose takes a shot at Bray Wyatt for failing to capture the WWE Championship after cashing in his Money in the Bank contract but in all reality, it was simply AJ Styles being phenomenal. Ambrose is out here simply to challenge AJ Styles to one last championship match. It doesn't even have to be at WWE Battleground. Hell, he'll do it tonight if AJ is down. Styles comes out and gives a speech about how he accepts Ambrose's challenge before saying that this was what he would have said if Styles didn't already beat Amrbose for the WWE Championship and then defended it against him. Ambrose understands and agrees wholeheartedly to what AJ is saying which is why Ambrose wants to sincerely apologize for what he's about to do. “The Lunatic Fringe” suddenly lays out AJ with a clothesline as a brawl ensues that Ambrose gets the better off. After their grueling and highly competitive WWE Championship match at Money in the Bank, it seemed like these two gained immense respect for each other and possibly even a friendship. Has Dean Ambrose just flushed that down the drain?

A video package is shown featuring The Ascension's reign of terror and dominance as the NXT Tag Team Champions. They speak in an interview and calls the WWE tag team division poor souls that have no clue about the devastation that's about to hit them. They bring up a tale about how when the devil returned to the Earth, nobody believed him until he unleashed the fires of Hell upon them. Tonight, The Ascension will unleash the fires of Hell of their own on The Usos and once they take down one of the most highly regarded tag teams in WWE. Everyone will fear The Ascension and they...will...rise!

Match #4
Tag Team Match
The Usos (Jimmy & Jey Uso) vs The Ascension (Konnor & Viktor)
Winners: The Usos (Tequila Sunrise from Jey on Viktor)

Middle Card Promo
The Golden Opportunity Battle Royal winner, Apollo Crews comes out and brings up how the winner of that Battle Royal earns an opportunity to challenge either the WWE Intercontinental Champion, the WWE United States Champion or any top contender. Apollo has decided that he will challenge the WWE Intercontinental Champion Alberto Del Rio to a match at WWE Battleground.

Former WWE Intercontinental Champion, “The Show Off” Dolph Ziggler is interviewed and talks about losing the WWE Intercontinental Championship at Money in the Bank to Alberto Del Rio. He says that he could stand here and place the blame on The League of Nations for getting involved or blaming it all on the numbers game but Dolph won't do that. Instead he's going to go out there, Superkick everyone in his way if he has to and win back his Intercontinental Championship.

Match #5
WWE Intercontinental Championship
Money in the Bank Rematch
Normal Match
Alberto Del Rio (c)(w/Rusev, Sheamus & Lana) vs Dolph Ziggler
Mid-Match: Lana is ejected from ringside for continuous interference.
Winner by pinfall and STILL WWE Intercontinental Champion: Alberto Del Rio (Backstabber)

Footage is shown of the WWE Champion AJ Styles defeating Dean Ambrose at WWE Money in the Bank and again on RAW before dispatching Bray Wyatt who cashed in his Money in the Bank contract. Styles is interviewed and talks about how great he feels about defending the WWE Championship three times in one week. It's fun for him. As far as Ambrose's challenge from earlier tonight, AJ is always a fighting champion and accepts Ambrose's challenge and suggests for them to face off in three weeks when SmackDown goes live.

Show Closer Promo
The Shield's Roman Reigns comes out and puts his Shield brother, Dean Ambrose over for his valiant efforts and achievements in the WWE Championship picture. He then brings up the Six-Man Tag Team Elimination Match between The Shield and The Club last week where he was eliminated by AJ Styles. Roman has asked Dean for his blessing and has received it. He is calling out the WWE Champion AJ Styles and challenging him to a championship match at WWE Battleground.

Match #6
#1 Contender's Match for the WWE Women's Championship
Main Event
Normal Match
Natalya vs Becky Lynch
Winner by submission and NEW #1 contender: Becky Lynch (Dis-Arm-Her)
