Opener Promo
The
former WWE Champion AJ Styles comes out and talks about his WWE
Championship match against the new WWE Champion Roman Reigns at WWE
Battleground. He then talks about how as the WWE Champion, AJ was
supposed to defend the WWE Championship against Dean Ambrose on
SmackDown Live. AJ makes a case that the WWE Championship on
SmackDown Live next week should be a Triple Threat. Roman Reigns
comes out and agrees by stating that AJ was indeed slated to face
Ambrose with the WWE Championship on the line next week on SmackDown
Live...but AJ is no longer the WWE Champion. Roman is. However, Roman
would be more than happy face off against AJ again at WWE
Battleground. Shane McMahon then goes on to make a Six-Man Tornado
Tag Team Match tonight featuring The Shield taking on The Club. If
The Club wins then the WWE Championship match next week on SmackDown
Live will become a Triple Threat Match for the WWE Championship as
“The Big Dog” Roman Reigns will defend against “The Lunatic
Fringe” Dean Ambrose and “The Phenomenal” AJ Styles.

Footage
is shown of the #1 contender for the WWE Intercontinental
Championship, Apollo Crews teaming up with Tyson Kidd and Cesaro last
Monday night on RAW to defeat The League of Nations. The WWE
Intercontinental Champion Alberto Del Rio comes out and calls out
Crews. They engage in a promo battle that Apollo is about to get the
better of when Del Rio suddenly clocks Apollo in the face with the
microphone. They have a brawl that Del Rio ends up winning.
After
suffering a crushing defeat at WrestleMania at the hands of The
Shield, The Authority and their iron fist haven't been the same
although they have been plotting and attempting to regain their
dominance. They state that they could have held off on a big return
for next week on SmackDown Live but they are here tonight to make a
statement. As far as SmackDown Live goes, at the end of the night,
all that will be on anybody's mind will be rightful return of
dominance of The Authority!

The
Miz comes out to brag and boast about defeating John Cena last week
on Monday Night RAW. He says that naturally Cena couldn't just give
The Miz his moment and whined and cried about a rematch. He gives
John all of the credit in the world as a wordsmith and the way that
he can manipulate the WWE Universe into thinking that The Miz pulled
off a fluke. However, The Miz is relishing a rematch against John
Cena at Battleground because it will be there where he will show the
WWE Universe that it was no fluke and the The Miz is really that much
more AWESOME.

A

off against Jack Swagger at WWE Battleground in the biggest fight of
Swagger's life. Swagger comes out and wants to inform his doubters by
explaining his background as an all-american wrestler and how he'd
fare well against the MMA-minded beast. This match excites him
because Swagger feels that he can finally be able to show the WWE
Universe what he can truly do and what he is made of. He talks about
how he's been training the hardest that he has ever trained in his
life and states that he's got what it takes to defeat Brock Lesnar at
WWE Battleground.

Champion Charlotte before engaging in a promo battle.

The
WWE Women's Champion Charlotte comes out and says that she has a
call-out to make. This person just doesn't know how to keep her mouth
shut whether it's backstage, behind her back or on social media.
Charlotte once considered this person a dear friend but now the only
thing Charlotte wants anything to do with this person is shut her
mouth. Charlotte calls out Sasha Banks, a call-out that the WWE
Universe in Biloxi was not expecting. Sasha Banks comes out and backs
up everything that she's been saying backstage, in interviews and on
social media. Why? Because Charlotte may think that she's done with
her but Sasha will never done with Charlotte as long as she has
Sasha's WWE Women's Championship. Once Sasha regains her Women's
Championship, Charlotte can then disappear in her rear view mirror as
far as she is concerned. Charlotte goes on to win the promo battle
but this situation has raised some questions. It had seemed as though
Charlotte had put Sasha in her rear view mirror after Money in the
Bank but now, despite already being involved in a rivalry with Becky
Lynch, it seems as though Charlotte has still some bitter and
unfinished business with “The Boss”.
