My WWE 2K18 Results: WWE SmackDown Live (August.Week 3)

WWE SmackDown Live
August, Week 3, Year 1
Charlotte, NC

Last week on SmackDown Live, “The Lone Wolf” Baron Corbin defeated Dean Ambrose to become the first in line out of the two to challenge AJ Styles for the WWE Championship at SummerSlam. However, immediately following that match, John Cena defeated AJ Styles in non-title competition to also put his name in the hat of WWE Championship contenders. So tonight's main event of SmackDown Live will feature Baron Corbin taking on John Cena. The winner will challenge AJ Styles for the WWE Championship at SummerSlam!

Show Opener Promo
The WWE Champion AJ Styles comes out and talks about losing to John Cena in a non-title match last week on SmackDown Live. This loss has been eating away at AJ ever since and he didn't even lose the WWE Championship. AJ is just extremely competitive and as a result, he doesn't want to wait until SummerSlam to redeem himself. AJ wants to redeem himself tonight!

It's not everyday that the WWE is in Charlotte, North Carolina. So Styles is taking the opportunity to challenge Ric Flair '91, the WCW World Heavyweight Champion to a match tonight!

Footage is shown of Bray Wyatt picking up a huge victory last week over The Undertaker with the help of Luke Harper and Erick Rowan at ringside.

The Miz storms into the office of Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan and wants to know who let that has-been Edge into the arena tonight. They inform him that Edge is a WWE Legend. Miz accuses Edge of robbing Miz of his opportunity to take Dean Ambrose's contract for a WWE Championship rematch. Miz says that tonight's result shouldn't count and Miz should get another opportunity at Ambrose next week.

Shane and Daniel reply by somewhat agreeing with The Miz. SmackDown Live is indeed the land of opportunity and they won't deny Miz of his. Miz's angry spirits start to lift until Shane and Daniel keep on talking. They add that next week on SmackDown Live it will be Miz vs Dean Ambrose with The Lunatic Fringe's contract for WWE Championship rematch on the line, and to make sure that Edge is kept out of the match and doesn't interfere by beating up The Miz again, that match will take place inside of a steel cage!
