Last week on NXT: Elias delivered payback against Patrick Clark with an attack of his own, angered by his rival's actions from two weeks ago when “The Velveteen Dream” continued to attack Elias after the match, intent on hurting and disrespecting him.

Also last week on NXT: “The Perfect 10” Tye Dillinger defeated Shinsuke Nakamura and Kassius Ohno in a Triple Threat, earning himself an opportunity at the NXT Championship this weekend at NXT TakeOver: San Antonio!

Tonight on NXT: “The Velveteen Dream” Patrick Clark squares off against Elias, just days before their big bout at NXT TakeOver: San Antonio where both man plan to finally settle their score. Tonight marks the beginning the end for their rivalry!

Tye Dillinger calls out his opponent this weekend at NXT TakeOver: San Antonio, the NXT Champion Samoa Joe. Dillinger talks about how Joe wrote him off completely last week when he was listing off the names of potential challengers. Now the name he considered to be the smallest threat is now the biggest threat.

Samoa Joe stands by his comments and says that nothing has changed. As far as Joe is concerned, Dillinger just let Nakamura and Ohno beat each other senseless until it was time for Tye to capitalize. Joe states that this weekend he will make light work of “The Perfect 10” and add another name to his list of victims that tried to challenge him for his NXT Championship.

Dillinger retorts by asking Joe how he thinks he'll feel on the morning after TakeOver: San Antonio when he no longer has the NXT Championship on his nightstand and the realization dawns on him that he is beneath “The Perfect 10”. This provokes Joe into clocking Dillinger as a brawl breaks out that Joe gets the better of.
