TONIGHT: Mr. McMahon was so impressed with The Big Red Machine's performance that he postponed The Rock's championship rematch tonight and instead focused Kane's destructive power on McMahon's biggest rival, Stone Cold Steve Austin. So tonight it will be the WWE Champion Kane '98 defending the WWE Championship against Stone Cold Steve Austin '97! Can “The Big Red Machine” hold on to the championship or will “The Rattlesnake” stop Kane's reign at less than 48 hours?

Meanwhile, McMahon has secretly commissioned Dude Love to dispatch the former WWE Superstar and current WCW competitor in order to prove that he is worthy to represent McMahon as WWE Championship challenger.

Dude Love, unable to resist the allure of challenging for the WWE Championship, accepts. It's not too difficult to understand Dude Love's viewpoint as he is among the bottom ranked Superstars in the WWE Championship division.
