THIS PAST WEEKEND AT NXT UK TAKEOVER: BLACKPOOL: “The Bruiserweight” Pete Dunne defeated Mark Andrews to win the WWE United Kingdom Championship! Mustache Mountain became the inaugural NXT UK Tag Team Champions! Rhea Ripley picked up a dominant victory and Nikki Cross (now on RAW) retained the NXT UK Women's Championship against Toni Storm!

Velveteen Dream reveals a new “sparkle” in his eye: the NXT North American Championship. But before Dream can declare how he plans to match this newfound “sparkle” with gold, The Undisputed ERA's Adam Cole interjected, arguing that Dream's plans interferes with their own all-gold-everything agenda for 2019.

Cole goes on about how the year would see the entire Undisputed ERA draped with gold, as Bobby Fish deems it as “undisputed.” Dream, on the other hand, disputes those plans and tension quickly spills into the ring, setting the stage for a one-on-one battle between Dream and Fish later in the night!

“The Queen of Spades” concedes that “The HBIC” may think that she's the head baddie in charge, but concludes that it won't stop Baszler from breaking Mia's arms at TakeOver. The #1 contender then shows her defiance by slapping Baszler in the face!

Answering Johnny Gargano's challenge last week, the NXT North American Champion, Ricochet, pulled up looking to send his opponent a message before NXT TakeOver: Phoenix. As he points out that 2018 solidified him as something Gargano is not, “a champion,” as “Johnny Wrestling” steps in looking for a fight and wins the ensuing brawl.

As soon as Ricochet kicks Gargano to the outside, NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa emerges and slugs Ricochet that heaves him out of the ring. After a tense stare down ensues between the former DIY, Aleister Black (who'll take on Ciampa at TakeOver: Phoenix), arrives to unleash fury on Ciampa. Gargano then returns the favor to Black, laying out “The Dutch Destroyer”. The former DIY then proceed to add insult to injury by dropping their opponents with a Fairy Tale Ending and draping DDT.

While Ricochet and Black lay sprawled out across the canvas, Gargano and Ciampa stare at each other warily as they both walk up toward the stage. When it seems as though a formal reunion is about to be finalized, with Ciampa extending his hand, Candice LeRae quickly arrives to stop Gargano from entertaining the gesture. “This is not you,” she tells her husband. “You are not doing this again.”
