An furious former NXT Champion Samoa Joe comes out to the ring and calls out the reigning NXT Champion Shinsuke Nakamura. Joe refuses to accept defeat in a non-title match to Nakamura and wants a re-do tonight. If Joe is denied then he will make it his duty to ruin the show tonight. A Cheshire cat-grinning Nakamura comes out and more than happily accepts Joe's challenge, rendering his threat futile. Before the segment can end, Joe lays out Nakamura with a cheap shot.

NXT General Manager William Regal is giving some of the lower-ranked NXT Superstars a big opportunity to compete in an 8-Man Over the Top Rope Battle Royal where the winner will become the highest ranked Superstar of the bunch. All it takes is a victory tonight to be supplemented with two or three more victories to really make your name reverberate throughout the NXT ranks.

The Revival are interviewed and talk about how they're planning on becoming five-time NXT Tag Team Champions tonight.

The NXT Tag Team Champions American Alpha talk about The Revival's boast about being four-time NXT Tag Team Champions and they've done a little research and found out that between all four of those reigns...The Revival only had one successful championship defense between all of them. Chad and Jason share a laugh as they shift the topic to themselves.

They state that they are fighting champions and despite being drafted to SmackDown Live, they won't let that stop them from their mission of becoming the greatest and most fighting NXT Tag Team Champions of all time. With two championship reigns and six successful championship defenses between them, Chad Gable and Jason Jordan look to add another successful championship defense to their resume tonight!

Austin Aries comes out and congratulates Hideo Itami on his victory against Aries at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn II. However, Aries tells Itami that he should not be celebrating. Instead, Hideo should have went straight to NXT General Manager William Regal to request one more match against “The Greatest Man That Ever Live” because nobody should ever forget what happened when the two of them first clashed because it was Aries that was victorious. Itami should not be celebrating, he should be accepting Austin Aries' challenge for the tie-breaking match.

NXT GM William Regal has obliged her and Billie Kay will be challenging Asuka for the NXT Women's Championship right here next week on NXT!
