My WWE 2K18 Results: WCW Monday Nitro (August.Week 1)

WCW Monday Nitro
August, Week 1, Year 1
Omaha, NE

Show Opener Promo
The WCW World Heavyweight Champion “The Nature Boy” Ric Flair '91 comes out to the ring to brag, boast and gloat about defeating Sting '98 in a championship match last week on Monday Nitro. He tells the WCW office to “keep setting 'em up” so he can knock them right back down. He reveals that there's going to be a Triple Threat #1 Contender's Match tonight to determine who gets the next shot at his WCW World Heavyweight Championship. He tells the competitors not to go too hard tonight because they're going to need all that and then some when they get in the ring with “The Nature Boy”.

Match #1
Non-Title
Normal Match
Flyin' Brian Pillman vs Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat '94
Winner by pinfall: Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat '94 (Diving Body Splash)

Last week on Nitro, Scott Hall attacked Disco Inferno before their match, determined to hurt his opponent.

WCW World Television Champion Disco Inferno comes out and addresses Scott Hall's attack on him from last week. Disco admits that he was blindsided by this because he thought that Hall and him were stablemates. Disco saw that Sting '88 was cool with The Outsiders in the locker room and Hall and Nash are generally considered to be affiliated with the original nWo faction as opposed to Sting '88's nWo Wolfpac faction that The Outsiders were also known to be a part of. Disco asks for forgiveness if this was all confusing but since Sting '88 and Disco are tight, he assumed that there would be no problem with guys like Hall. Obviously he was mistaken.

Last week on Nitro, the WCW United States Champion “Big Sexy” Kevin Nash squared off against Bret “The Hitman” Hart '98 in a championship match that saw Nash nail Bret with a steel chair midway. Hart, who has been affiliated with the nWo in the past, went on record to say that he didn't hold it against Nash because “Big Sexy” knew that he was about to be outclassed by “The Excellence of Execution” and that he knew that Nash could not use any of his stroke to avoid the inevitability of facing “The Hitman” once again.

Match #2
WCW United States Championship
Rematch
No Holds Barred Match
Kevin Nash (c) vs Bret “Hitman” Hart '98
Winner by submission and NEW WCW United States Champion: Bret “Hitman” Hart '98 (Sharpshooter)

Middle Card Promo
Vader comes out to the ring and calls out the WCW Hardcore Champion Goldberg. Vader tells Goldberg that he may have a problem with Bret Hart but Vader just so happens to have a problem with Goldberg. Why? Because Goldberg thinks that he's the baddest man in WCW and the baddest man on the planet and Goldberg holding the WCW Hardcore Championship may back up his claims. To be the WCW Hardcore Champion, you have to take on all-comers anytime and any place so you have to be tough as nails to hold that championship for a long period of time. However, Vader has arrived to tell Goldberg that Vader is the baddest man in WCW and the baddest man on the planet. Goldberg has no problem in demonstrating to Vader why he is “Da Man” in WCW and he feels confident that after a spear and a jackhammer that Vader will also agree.

Match #3
#1 Contender's Match for the WCW World Heavyweight Championship
Triple Threat Match
Sting '88 vs Bam Bam Bigelow vs Lex Luger
Winner by submission and #1 contender: Lex Luger (Torture Rack on Bigelow)

Middle Card Promo
WCW World Tag Team Champion Diamond Dallas Page '98 comes out to the ring and talks about how Bam Bam Bigelow and himself are the best tag team in WCW today. Just this morning WCW officials were trying to find some tag teams to battle it out for an opportunity at their World Tag Team Championship but they couldn't find any credible tag teams. Everyone was either too scared or too “busy” in other matches to pose a challenge. DDP can't really blame them. Have you seen the tag champs?!

Last week on Nitro, Fit Finlay delivered payback against Stunning Steve Austin with an attack of his own, angered by when Austin threw Bret Hart into him last week! Tonight, Austin and Finlay meet in their third one on one encounter. “The Stunning One” currently holds two straight victories over “The Belfast Bruiser” who has yet to beat Austin. Is tonight Finlay's night?
